창세기 12장 [킹제임스]

1 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your fathers household and go to the land I will show you.
1 그런데 전에 주께서 아브람에게 이르시되, 너는 네 고향과 친족과 아버지 집을 떠나 내가 네게 보여 줄 땅으로 가라.

2 "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
2 내가 너로부터 큰 민족을 만들고 네게 복을 주어 네 이름을 크게 하리니 네가 복이 되리라.

3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."
3 너를 축복하는 자들에게는 내가 복을 주고 너를 저주하는 자에게는 저주를 내리리니 네 안에서 땅의 모든 가족들이 복을 받으리라, 하셨으므로

4 So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran.
4 이에 아브람이 주께서 전에 자기에게 말씀하신 대로 떠났고 롯도 그와 함께 갔는데 아브람이 하란을 떠날 때 그는 칠십오 세였더라.

5 He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there.
5 아브람이 자기 아내 사래와 자기 조카 롯과 하란에서 그들이 모은 그들의 모든 재산과 그들이 얻은 혼들을 데려갔으며 그들이 가나안 땅으로 들어가려고 나아가 가나안 땅으로 들어갔더라.

6 Abram traveled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land.
6 ¶ 아브람이 그 땅을 지나 세겜이라는 곳에 다다르고 모레의 평야에 다다랐는데 그때에 가나안 족속이 그 땅에 있더라.

7 The LORD appeared to Abram and said, "To your offspring I will give this land." So he built an altar there to the LORD, who had appeared to him.
7 주께서 아브람에게 나타나 이르시되, 내가 이 땅을 네 씨에게 주리라, 하셨으므로 거기서 그가 자기에게 나타나신 주께 제단을 쌓고

8 From there he went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the LORD and called on the name of the LORD.
8 거기서 떠나 벧엘의 동쪽에 있는 산으로 이동하여 자기 장막을 쳤는데 그곳의 서쪽에는 벧엘이 있고 동쪽에는 아이가 있더라. 거기서 그가 주께 제단을 쌓고 주의 이름을 불렀으며

9 Then Abram set out and continued toward the Negev.
9 아브람이 이동하여 계속 남쪽을 향해 갔더라.

10 Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to live there for a while because the famine was severe.
10 ¶ 그 땅에 기근이 있었으므로 아브람이 이집트로 내려가 거기 체류하려 하였으니 이는 그 땅에 기근이 심하였기 때문이더라.

11 As he was about to enter Egypt, he said to his wife Sarai, "I know what a beautiful woman you are.
11 그가 이집트에 가까이 가서 거기로 들어가려 할 때에 자기 아내 사래에게 이르되, 이제 보라, 당신은 보기에 아름다운 여인임을 내가 아노라.

12 When the Egyptians see you, they will say, This is his wife. Then they will kill me but will let you live.
12 그러므로 이집트 사람들이 당신을 볼 때에 이르기를, 이 여인은 그의 아내라, 하고 나는 죽이되 당신은 살려 두리니

13 Say you are my sister, so that I will be treated well for your sake and my life will be spared because of you."
13 원하건대 당신은 내 누이라고 말하라. 그러면 당신으로 인해 내 일이 잘되고 당신으로 인해 내 혼이 살리라, 하니라.

14 When Abram came to Egypt, the Egyptians saw that she was a very beautiful woman.
14 ¶ 아브람이 이집트로 들어갔을 때 이집트 사람들이 그 여인을 보되 그녀가 심히 아름다운 것을 보았으며

15 And when Pharaohs officials saw her, they praised her to Pharaoh, and she was taken into his palace.
15 파라오의 통치자들도 그녀를 보고 파라오 앞에서 그녀를 칭찬하였더라. 사람들이 그 여인을 파라오의 집으로 데려가매

16 He treated Abram well for her sake, and Abram acquired sheep and cattle, male and female donkeys, menservants and maidservants, and camels.
16 파라오가 그녀로 인해 아브람을 선대하므로 그가 양들과 소들과 수나귀들과 남종들과 여종들과 암나귀들과 낙타들을 얻었더라.

17 But the LORD inflicted serious diseases on Pharaoh and his household because of Abrams wife Sarai.
17 주께서 아브람의 아내 사래로 인해 파라오와 그의 집에 큰 재앙들로 재앙을 내리시매

18 So Pharaoh summoned Abram. "What have you done to me?" he said. "Why didnt you tell me she was your wife?
18 파라오가 아브람을 불러 이르되, 네가 내게 행한 이 일이 무엇이냐? 네가 어찌하여 그녀가 네 아내라고 내게 고하지 아니하였느냐?

19 Why did you say, She is my sister, so that I took her to be my wife? Now then, here is your wife. Take her and go!"
19 네가 어찌하여, 그녀는 내 누이라, 하고 말하여 내가 그녀를 내게 데려와 아내로 삼을 뻔하게 하였느냐? 그러므로 이제 네 아내를 보고 그녀를 데리고서 네 길로 가라, 하며

20 Then Pharaoh gave orders about Abram to his men, and they sent him on his way, with his wife and everything he had.
20 파라오가 그에 관하여 자기 사람들에게 명령을 내리니 그들이 그와 그의 아내와 그가 소유한 모든 것을 보내었더라.
