창세기 19장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground.

   1 저녁때에 두 천사가 소돔에 다다랐는데 롯이 소돔 성문에 앉았다가 그들을 보고는 그들을 맞이하기 위해 일어나 얼굴을 땅바닥에 대고 절하며

2. 2 "My lords," he said, "please turn aside to your servants house. You can wash your feet and spend the night and then go on your way early in the morning." "No," they answered, "we will spend the night in the square."

   2 이르되, 이제 보소서, 내 주(主)들이여, 원하건대 발길을 돌려 당신들 종의 집으로 들어와 온밤을 묵으며 당신들의 발을 씻고 일찍 일어나 당신들의 길을 가소서, 하니 그들이 이르되, 아니라. 우리는 거리에서 온밤을 지내리라, 하였으나

3. 3 But he insisted so strongly that they did go with him and entered his house. He prepared a meal for them, baking bread without yeast, and they ate.

   3 그가 간절히 그들에게 조르므로 그들이 그에게 발길을 돌려 그의 집으로 들어오니 그가 그들을 위해 잔치를 베풀고 누룩 없는 빵을 구우매 그들이 먹더라.

4. 4 Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom--both young and old--surrounded the house.

   4 ¶ 그러나 그들이 눕기 전에 그 도시의 남자들 곧 소돔의 남자들 즉 늙은이든 젊은이든 사방에서 나온 모든 사람들이 그 집을 에워쌌더라.

5. 5 They called to Lot, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them."

   5 그들이 롯을 불러 그에게 이르되, 이 밤에 네게 들어온 남자들이 어디 있느냐? 그들을 우리에게 데리고 나오라. 우리가 그들을 알리라, 하니

6. 6 Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him

   6 롯이 문에 있는 그 사람들에게 나가 자기 뒤로 문을 닫고

7. 7 and said, "No, my friends. Dont do this wicked thing.

   7 이르되, 원하건대 형제들아, 이같이 사악하게 행하지 말라.

8. 8 Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But dont do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof."

   8 이제 보라, 내게는 남자를 알지 않은 두 딸이 있노라. 원하건대 내가 그들을 너희에게 데리고 나가리니 너희는 너희 보기에 좋은 대로 그들에게 행하되 오직 이 남자들에게는 아무 일도 하지 말라. 이런 까닭으로 그들이 내 지붕 그늘 아래로 들어왔느니라, 하매

9. 9 "Get out of our way," they replied. And they said, "This fellow came here as an alien, and now he wants to play the judge! Well treat you worse than them." They kept bringing pressure on Lot and moved forward to break down the door.

   9 그들이 이르되, 물러서라, 하고 또 이르되, 이놈이 체류하려고 들어와서는 우리의 재판관이 되려 하는도다. 이제 우리가 그들보다 너를 더 나쁘게 다루리라, 하며 그 사람 곧 롯을 강하게 밀치고 가까이 와서 문을 부수려 하더라.

10. 10 But the men inside reached out and pulled Lot back into the house and shut the door.

    10 그러나 그 남자들이 자기들의 손을 내밀어 롯을 집 안에 있는 자기들에게 끌어들인 뒤에 문을 닫고

11. 11 Then they struck the men who were at the door of the house, young and old, with blindness so that they could not find the door.

    11 그 집 문에 있는 남자들을 작은 자든 큰 자든 다 쳐서 눈을 멀게 하니 이에 그들이 문을 찾느라 힘들어하더라.

12. 12 The two men said to Lot, "Do you have anyone else here--sons-in-law, sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you? Get them out of here,

    12 ¶ 그 남자들이 롯에게 이르되, 네게 속한 자가 여기에 더 있느냐? 사위와 네 아들들과 네 딸들과 이 도시 안에서 네게 속한 것은 무엇이든지 그것들을 다 이곳에서 가지고 나가라.

13. 13 because we are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the LORD against its people is so great that he has sent us to destroy it."

    13 그들에 대한 부르짖음이 주의 얼굴 앞에서 커졌으므로 우리가 이곳을 멸하리라. 주께서 이곳을 멸하시려고 우리를 보내셨느니라, 하매

14. 14 So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters. He said, "Hurry and get out of this place, because the LORD is about to destroy the city!" But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.

    14 롯이 나가서 자기 딸들과 결혼한 자기 사위들에게 말하여 이르되, 주께서 이 도시를 멸하시리니 너희는 일어나 이곳을 떠나라, 하였으나 그의 사위들은 그를 농담하는 자로 여겼더라.

15. 15 With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, "Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away when the city is punished."

    15 ¶ 아침이 되매 그 천사들이 롯을 서두르게 하며 이르되, 일어나 여기 있는 네 아내와 두 딸을 데려가라. 그 도시의 불법 가운데서 네가 소멸될까 염려하노라, 하였으나

16. 16 When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the LORD was merciful to them.

    16 그가 망설이매 그 남자들이 그의 손과 그의 아내의 손과 두 딸의 손을 잡았고 주께서 그에게 긍휼을 베푸셨으므로 그들이 그를 데리고 나가 그 도시 밖에 두었더라.

17. 17 As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, "Flee for your lives! Dont look back, and dont stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!"

    17 ¶ 그 남자들이 그들을 밖으로 데리고 나간 뒤에 그가 이르되, 네 생명을 건지기 위해 도피하라. 너는 네 뒤를 돌아보거나 온 평야에 머무르지 말고 산으로 도피하여 네가 소멸되지 않게 하라, 하니

18. 18 But Lot said to them, "No, my lords, please!

    18 롯이 그들에게 이르되, 오 내 주여, 그리하지 마옵소서.

19. 19 Your servant has found favor in your eyes, and you have shown great kindness to me in sparing my life. But I cant flee to the mountains; this disaster will overtake me, and Ill die.

    19 이제 보소서, 주의 종이 주의 눈앞에서 은혜를 입었고 주께서 주의 긍휼을 크게 늘리사 내 생명을 구원하심으로 그 긍휼을 내게 베푸셨으나 내가 산으로 도피할 수 없나이다. 어떤 해악이 나를 덮치면 내가 죽을까 염려하나이다.

20. 20 Look, here is a town near enough to run to, and it is small. Let me flee to it--it is very small, isnt it? Then my life will be spared."

    20 이제 보소서, 이 도시는 도망하기에 가깝고 또 작은 도시이니 오 내가 거기로 도피하게 하소서. (그것은 작은 도시가 아니니이까?) 그러면 내 혼이 살리이다. 하매

21. 21 He said to him, "Very well, I will grant this request too; I will not overthrow the town you speak of.

    21 그가 롯에게 이르되, 보라, 내가 이 일에 대해서도 네 청을 받아들였으므로 네가 말한 이 도시를 엎어 멸하지 아니하리니

22. 22 But flee there quickly, because I cannot do anything until you reach it." (That is why the town was called Zoar.)

    22 너는 급히 거기로 도피하라. 네가 거기에 갈 때까지 내가 아무것도 할 수 없노라, 하였더라. 그러므로 사람들이 그 도시의 이름을 소알이라 하였더라.

23. 23 By the time Lot reached Zoar, the sun had risen over the land.

    23 ¶ 롯이 소알로 들어갈 때에 해가 땅 위에 솟았는데

24. 24 Then the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah--from the LORD out of the heavens.

    24 그때에 주께서 하늘에서 주로부터 유황과 불을 비같이 소돔과 고모라에 쏟으사

25. 25 Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, including all those living in the cities--and also the vegetation in the land.

    25 그 도시들과 온 평야와 그 도시들의 모든 거주민들과 땅 위에서 자라난 것을 엎어 멸하셨더라.

26. 26 But Lots wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

    26 ¶ 그러나 그의 아내는 그의 뒤에서 뒤를 돌아보았으므로 소금 기둥이 되었더라.

27. 27 Early the next morning Abraham got up and returned to the place where he had stood before the LORD.

    27 ¶ 아브라함이 아침에 일찍 일어나 자기가 주 앞에 섰던 곳에 이르러

28. 28 He looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, toward all the land of the plain, and he saw dense smoke rising from the land, like smoke from a furnace.

    28 소돔과 고모라와 그 평야의 온 땅 쪽을 쳐다보고 바라보니, 보라, 그 지역의 연기가 용광로 연기처럼 치솟았더라.

29. 29 So when God destroyed the cities of the plain, he remembered Abraham, and he brought Lot out of the catastrophe that overthrew the cities where Lot had lived.

    29 ¶ 하나님께서 그 평야의 도시들을 멸하실 때 곧 롯이 거하던 도시들을 엎어 멸하실 때에 하나님께서 아브라함을 기억하사 그 엎어 멸하시는 가운데서 롯을 내보내셨더라.

30. 30 Lot and his two daughters left Zoar and settled in the mountains, for he was afraid to stay in Zoar. He and his two daughters lived in a cave.

    30 ¶ 롯이 소알에 거하기를 두려워하였으므로 그와 또 그와 함께한 두 딸이 소알에서 나와 올라가서 산에 거하되 그와 그의 두 딸이 굴에 거하였더라.

31. 31 One day the older daughter said to the younger, "Our father is old, and there is no man around here to lie with us, as is the custom all over the earth.

    31 맏딸이 작은딸에게 이르되, 우리 아버지는 연로하시고 온 땅의 관례대로 우리에게 들어올 남자가 땅에는 없도다.

32. 32 Lets get our father to drink wine and then lie with him and preserve our family line through our father."

    32 오라, 우리가 우리 아버지에게 포도주를 마시게 하고 우리가 그와 함께 누워 우리 아버지의 씨를 보존하자, 하고는

33. 33 That night they got their father to drink wine, and the older daughter went in and lay with him. He was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.

    33 그 밤에 그들이 자기들의 아버지에게 포도주를 마시게 하고 맏딸이 들어가 자기 아버지와 함께 누웠는데 그는 그녀가 언제 눕고 언제 일어났는지 알지 못하였더라.

34. 34 The next day the older daughter said to the younger, "Last night I lay with my father. Lets get him to drink wine again tonight, and you go in and lie with him so we can preserve our family line through our father."

    34 다음 날 맏딸이 작은딸에게 이르되, 보라, 어젯밤에는 내가 내 아버지와 함께 누웠으니 이 밤에도 우리가 그에게 포도주를 마시게 하고 네가 들어가 그와 함께 누워 우리가 우리 아버지의 씨를 보존하자, 하고는

35. 35 So they got their father to drink wine that night also, and the younger daughter went and lay with him. Again he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.

    35 그 밤에도 그들이 자기들의 아버지에게 포도주를 마시게 하고 작은딸이 일어나 그와 함께 누웠는데 그는 그녀가 언제 눕고 언제 일어났는지 알지 못하였더라.

36. 36 So both of Lots daughters became pregnant by their father.

    36 이같이 롯의 딸들이 둘 다 자기들의 아버지로 말미암아 아이를 배었고

37. 37 The older daughter had a son, and she named him Moab; he is the father of the Moabites of today.

    37 맏딸은 아들을 낳아 그의 이름을 모압이라 하였는데 바로 그는 이날까지 모압 족속의 조상이며

38. 38 The younger daughter also had a son, and she named him Ben-Ammi; he is the father of the Ammonites of today.

    38 작은딸도 아들을 낳아 그의 이름을 벤암미라 하였는데 바로 그는 이날까지 암몬 자손의 조상이니라.
