창세기 29장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 Then Jacob continued on his journey and came to the land of the eastern peoples.

   1 그 뒤에 야곱이 계속 이동하여 동쪽 사람들의 땅으로 들어가

2. 2 There he saw a well in the field, with three flocks of sheep lying near it because the flocks were watered from that well. The stone over the mouth of the well was large.

   2 바라보니, 보라, 들에 우물이 있고 또, 보라, 그 곁에 양 떼 세 무리가 누워 있더라. 이는 그들이 그 우물에서 양 떼에게 물을 먹였기 때문이더라. 큰 돌이 우물 입구 위에 있었는데

3. 3 When all the flocks were gathered there, the shepherds would roll the stone away from the wells mouth and water the sheep. Then they would return the stone to its place over the mouth of the well.

   3 모든 떼가 거기로 모이면 그들이 우물 입구에서 그 돌을 굴려서 옮기고 양들에게 물을 먹인 뒤 그 돌을 우물 입구의 제자리에 다시 올려놓았더라.

4. 4 Jacob asked the shepherds, "My brothers, where are you from?" "Were from Haran," they replied.

   4 야곱이 그들에게 이르되, 내 형제들아, 너희는 어디에서 왔느냐? 하니 그들이 이르되, 우리는 하란에서 왔노라, 하므로

5. 5 He said to them, "Do you know Laban, Nahors grandson?" "Yes, we know him," they answered.

   5 그가 그들에게 이르되, 너희가 나홀의 아들 라반을 아느냐? 하니 그들이 이르되, 아노라, 하매

6. 6 Then Jacob asked them, "Is he well?" "Yes, he is," they said, "and here comes his daughter Rachel with the sheep."

   6 그가 그들에게 이르되, 그가 잘 있느냐? 하니 그들이 이르되, 잘 있느니라. 보라, 그의 딸 라헬이 양들과 함께 오느니라, 하니라.

7. 7 "Look," he said, "the sun is still high; it is not time for the flocks to be gathered. Water the sheep and take them back to pasture."

   7 그가 이르되, 보라, 아직 한낮이므로 가축이 함께 모일 때가 아니니 너희는 양들에게 물을 먹인 뒤 가서 그것들에게 먹이를 주라, 하매

8. 8 "We cant," they replied, "until all the flocks are gathered and the stone has been rolled away from the mouth of the well. Then we will water the sheep."

   8 그들이 이르되, 우리는 그리할 수 없노라. 모든 떼가 함께 모이고 그들이 우물 입구에서 돌을 굴려서 옮겨야 비로소 우리가 양들에게 물을 먹이느니라, 하니라.

9. 9 While he was still talking with them, Rachel came with her fathers sheep, for she was a shepherdess.

   9 ¶ 그가 아직 그들과 말하고 있을 때에 라헬이 자기 아버지의 양들과 함께 왔으니 이는 그녀가 그것들을 돌보았기 때문이더라.

10. 10 When Jacob saw Rachel daughter of Laban, his mothers brother, and Labans sheep, he went over and rolled the stone away from the mouth of the well and watered his uncles sheep.

    10 야곱이 자기 외삼촌 라반의 딸 라헬과 자기 외삼촌 라반의 양들을 보고는 가까이 가서 우물 입구에서 돌을 굴려 옮기고 자기 외삼촌 라반의 양 떼에게 물을 먹이며

11. 11 Then Jacob kissed Rachel and began to weep aloud.

    11 라헬에게 입 맞추고 소리 높여 울며

12. 12 He had told Rachel that he was a relative of her father and a son of Rebekah. So she ran and told her father.

    12 자기가 그녀 아버지의 형제요, 리브가의 아들임을 라헬에게 고하였더니 그녀가 달려가 자기 아버지에게 고하매

13. 13 As soon as Laban heard the news about Jacob, his sisters son, he hurried to meet him. He embraced him and kissed him and brought him to his home, and there Jacob told him all these things.

    13 라반이 자기 누이의 아들 야곱의 소식을 듣고는 달려와 그를 맞이하여 껴안고 그에게 입 맞추며 그를 자기 집으로 데려갔으므로 그가 이 모든 일을 라반에게 고하니

14. 14 Then Laban said to him, "You are my own flesh and blood." After Jacob had stayed with him for a whole month,

    14 라반이 그에게 이르되, 너는 참으로 내 골육이니라, 하였더라. 야곱이 그와 함께 한 달 동안 있었더니

15. 15 Laban said to him, "Just because you are a relative of mine, should you work for me for nothing? Tell me what your wages should be."

    15 ¶ 라반이 야곱에게 이르되, 네가 내 형제라고 해서 그런 까닭으로 나를 거저 섬겨야 하겠느냐? 무엇이 네 품삯이 되겠느냐? 내게 고하라, 하니라.

16. 16 Now Laban had two daughters; the name of the older was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.

    16 라반에게 두 딸이 있었는데 큰딸의 이름은 레아요, 작은딸의 이름은 라헬이더라.

17. 17 Leah had weak eyes, but Rachel was lovely in form, and beautiful.

    17 레아는 눈이 약하였으나 라헬은 아름답고 잘생겼더라.

18. 18 Jacob was in love with Rachel and said, "Ill work for you seven years in return for your younger daughter Rachel."

    18 야곱이 라헬을 사랑하므로 이르되, 내가 외삼촌의 작은딸 라헬을 위해 칠 년 동안 외삼촌을 섬기리이다, 하매

19. 19 Laban said, "Its better that I give her to you than to some other man. Stay here with me."

    19 라반이 이르되, 내가 그녀를 네게 주는 것이 다른 사람에게 주는 것보다 나으니 나와 함께 머물라, 하니라.

20. 20 So Jacob served seven years to get Rachel, but they seemed like only a few days to him because of his love for her.

    20 야곱이 라헬을 위해 칠 년을 섬겼으나 그녀를 향해 자기가 품은 사랑으로 인하여 칠 년을 단지 며칠로 여겼더라.

21. 21 Then Jacob said to Laban, "Give me my wife. My time is completed, and I want to lie with her."

    21 ¶ 야곱이 라반에게 이르되, 내 날들이 찼으니 내 아내를 내게 주소서. 내가 그녀에게로 들어가겠나이다, 하매

22. 22 So Laban brought together all the people of the place and gave a feast.

    22 라반이 그곳의 모든 사람들을 함께 모아 잔치를 베풀고

23. 23 But when evening came, he took his daughter Leah and gave her to Jacob, and Jacob lay with her.

    23 저녁때에 자기 딸 레아를 취해 그에게 데려가니 그가 그녀에게로 들어가니라.

24. 24 And Laban gave his servant girl Zilpah to his daughter as her maidservant.

    24 또 라반이 자기 하녀 실바를 자기 딸 레아에게 여종으로 주었더라.

25. 25 When morning came, there was Leah! So Jacob said to Laban, "What is this you have done to me? I served you for Rachel, didnt I? Why have you deceived me?"

    25 아침이 되었는데, 보라, 그 여자는 레아이므로 그가 라반에게 이르되, 외삼촌이 내게 행한 이 일이 무엇이니이까? 내가 라헬을 위해 외삼촌과 함께하며 섬기지 아니하였나이까? 그런데 어찌하여 외삼촌이 나를 속이셨나이까? 하니

26. 26 Laban replied, "It is not our custom here to give the younger daughter in marriage before the older one.

    26 라반이 이르되, 우리 지방에서는 이렇게 맏딸보다 작은딸을 먼저 주는 일을 결코 하지 아니하느니라.

27. 27 Finish this daughters bridal week; then we will give you the younger one also, in return for another seven years of work."

    27 그녀를 위해 이레를 채우라. 우리가 이 딸도 너의 섬김으로 인해 네게 주리니 네가 다른 칠 년을 여전히 나와 함께하며 섬길지니라, 하매

28. 28 And Jacob did so. He finished the week with Leah, and then Laban gave him his daughter Rachel to be his wife.

    28 야곱이 그대로 하여 그녀를 위해 이레를 채우니 라반이 자기 딸 라헬도 그에게 아내로 주었으며

29. 29 Laban gave his servant girl Bilhah to his daughter Rachel as her maidservant.

    29 또 라반이 자기 하녀 빌하를 자기 딸 라헬에게 여종으로 주었더라.

30. 30 Jacob lay with Rachel also, and he loved Rachel more than Leah. And he worked for Laban another seven years.

    30 이에 야곱이 라헬에게도 들어갔으며 또한 레아보다 라헬을 더 사랑하였고 다른 칠 년을 여전히 라반과 함께하며 섬겼더라.

31. 31 When the LORD saw that Leah was not loved, he opened her womb, but Rachel was barren.

    31 ¶ 주께서 레아가 미움받는 것을 보시고 그녀의 태를 여셨으나 라헬은 수태하지 못하였더라.

32. 32 Leah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Reuben, for she said, "It is because the LORD has seen my misery. Surely my husband will love me now."

    32 레아가 수태하여 아들을 낳고 그의 이름을 르우벤이라 하였으니 이는 그녀가 이르기를, 주께서 분명히 내 고통을 보셨으므로 이제는 내 남편이 나를 사랑하리라, 하였기 때문이더라.

33. 33 She conceived again, and when she gave birth to a son she said, "Because the LORD heard that I am not loved, he gave me this one too." So she named him Simeon.

    33 그녀가 다시 수태하여 아들을 낳고 이르되, 주께서 내가 미움받는 것을 들으셨기에 그런 까닭으로 내게 이 아들도 주셨도다, 하고는 그의 이름을 시므온이라 하였고

34. 34 Again she conceived, and when she gave birth to a son she said, "Now at last my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons." So he was named Levi.

    34 그녀가 다시 수태하여 아들을 낳고 이르되, 내가 그에게 세 아들을 낳았으니 이제 이번에는 내 남편이 나와 연합하리라, 하고는 그런 까닭으로 그의 이름을 레위라 하였으며

35. 35 She conceived again, and when she gave birth to a son she said, "This time I will praise the LORD." So she named him Judah. Then she stopped having children.

    35 그녀가 다시 수태하여 아들을 낳고 이르되, 내가 이제는 주를 찬양하리라, 하고는 그런 까닭으로 그의 이름을 유다라 한 뒤 출산을 멈추었더라.
