1 This is the account of Shem, Ham and Japheth, Noahs sons, who themselves had sons after the flood.
1 한편 노아의 아들들인 셈과 함과 야벳의 세대들은 이러하니라. 홍수 이후에 그들에게 아들들이 태어났는데
-
2 The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech and Tiras.
2 야벳의 아들들은 고멜과 마곡과 마대와 야완과 두발과 메섹과 디라스요,
-
3 The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath and Togarmah.
3 고멜의 아들들은 아스그나스와 리밧과 도갈마이며
-
4 The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim and the Rodanim.
4 야완의 아들들은 엘리사와 다시스와 깃딤과 도다님이더라.

5 (From these the maritime peoples spread out into their territories by their clans within their nations, each with its own language.)
5 이들로 말미암아 이방인들의 섬들이 그들의 영토대로 나뉘었고 그들이 각각 자기 언어와 자기들의 가족에 따라 자기들의 민족대로 나뉘었더라.

6 The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put and Canaan.
6 ¶ 함의 아들들은 구스와 미스라임과 붓과 가나안이요,

7 The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.
7 구스의 아들들은 스바와 하윌라와 삽다와 라아마와 삽드가요, 라아마의 아들들은 세바와 드단이며

8 Cush was the father of Nimrod, who grew to be a mighty warrior on the earth.
8 구스가 니므롯을 낳았는데 그가 땅에서 강력한 자가 되기 시작하였더라.

9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; that is why it is said, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD."
9 그가 주 앞에서 강력한 사냥꾼이었으므로 사람들이 이르기를, 아무개는 주 앞에서 강력한 사냥꾼인 니므롯 같다, 하느니라.

10 The first centers of his kingdom were Babylon, Erech, Akkad and Calneh, in Shinar.
10 그의 왕국의 시작은 시날 땅에 있는 바벨과 에렉과 악갓과 갈네였으며

11 From that land he went to Assyria, where he built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah
11 그 땅에서 앗수르가 나가 니느웨와 도시 르호봇과 갈라와

12 and Resen, which is between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city.
12 또 니느웨와 갈라 사이의 레센을 세웠는데 바로 그것은 큰 도시니라.

13 Mizraim was the father of the Ludites, Anamites, Lehabites, Naphtuhites,
13 미스라임은 루딤과 아나밈과 르하빔과 납두힘과
-
14 Pathrusites, Casluhites (from whom the Philistines came) and Caphtorites.
14 바스루심과 가슬루힘과 갑도림을 낳았는데 (가슬루힘에게서 블레셋 사람들이 나왔더라.)

15 Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn, and of the Hittites,
15 ¶ 가나안은 자기 맏아들 시돈과 헷을 낳고

16 Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites,
16 또 여부스 족속과 아모리 족속과 기르가스 족속과

17 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,
17 히위 족속과 알가 족속과 신 족속과
-
18 Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites. Later the Canaanite clans scattered
18 아르왓 족속과 스말 족속과 하맛 족속을 낳았는데 그 뒤에 가나안 족속들의 가족들이 널리 퍼졌더라.

19 and the borders of Canaan reached from Sidon toward Gerar as far as Gaza, and then toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.
19 가나안 족속들의 경계는 네가 시돈을 떠나 그랄을 거쳐 가자로 갈 때에 만나는 지역이었으며 네가 소돔과 고모라와 아드마와 스보임을 거쳐 라사로 갈 때에 만나는 지역이었더라.

20 These are the sons of Ham by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations.
20 이들은 그들의 가족과 언어에 따라 그들의 나라와 민족대로 함의 아들들이니라.

21 Sons were also born to Shem, whose older brother was Japheth; Shem was the ancestor of all the sons of Eber.
21 ¶ 셈은 에벨의 모든 자손들의 조상이요, 연장자 야벳의 동생이라. 그에게도 아이들이 태어났는데

22 The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram.
22 셈의 아이들은 엘람과 앗수르와 아르박삿과 룻과 아람이요,

23 The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshech.
23 아람의 아이들은 우스와 훌과 게델과 마스이며

24 Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah the father of Eber.
24 아르박삿은 살라를 낳고 살라는 에벨을 낳았더라.

25 Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg, because in his time the earth was divided; his brother was named Joktan.
25 에벨에게 두 아들이 태어났는데 하나의 이름은 벨렉이었으니 이는 그의 날들에 땅이 나뉘었기 때문이더라. 그의 형제의 이름은 욕단이었으며

26 Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
26 욕단은 알모닷과 셀렙과 하살마벳과 예라와

27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
27 하도람과 우살과 디글라와
-
28 Obal, Abimael, Sheba,
28 오발과 아비마엘과 세바와
-
29 Ophir, Havilah and Jobab. All these were sons of Joktan.
29 오빌과 하윌라와 요밥을 낳았더라. 이들은 다 욕단의 아들들이더라.

30 The region where they lived stretched from Mesha toward Sephar, in the eastern hill country.
30 그들이 거하는 곳은 네가 메사를 떠나 동쪽의 산 스발로 갈 때에 만나는 지역이었더라.

31 These are the sons of Shem by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations.
31 이들은 그들의 가족과 언어에 따라 그들의 영토와 민족대로 셈의 아들들이니라.

32 These are the clans of Noahs sons, according to their lines of descent, within their nations. From these the nations spread out over the earth after the flood.
32 이들은 그들의 세대에 따라 그들의 민족대로 노아의 아들들의 가족들이며 홍수 이후에 이들로 말미암아 땅에서 민족들이 나뉘었더라.
