창세기 11장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 Now the whole world had one language and a common speech.

   1 온 땅이 한 언어를 쓰고 한 말을 썼더라.

2. 2 As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.

   2 그들이 동쪽에서 떠나 이동하다가 시날 땅에 있는 평야를 만나 거기 거하며

3. 3 They said to each other, "Come, lets make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar.

   3 그들이 서로 이르되, 자, 우리가 벽돌을 만들어 견고히 굽자, 하고는 돌 대신 벽돌을 취하고 회반죽 대신 진흙을 취한 뒤

4. 4 Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth."

   4 또 이르되, 자, 우리가 우리를 위해 도시와 탑을 세우고 탑의 꼭대기를 하늘에 닿게 하며 우리가 우리를 위해 이름을 내고 이로써 온 지면에 널리 흩어짐을 면하자, 하매

5. 5 But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building.

   5 주께서 사람들의 아이들이 세우는 도시와 탑을 보려고 내려오셔서

6. 6 The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.

   6 주께서 이르시되, 보라, 백성이 하나요, 또 그들이 다 한 언어를 가지고 있으므로 이 일을 하기 시작하니 그들이 하려고 상상한 어떤 일도 이제 그들이 하지 못하게 막지 못하리라.

7. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."

   7 자, 우리가 내려가 거기서 그들의 언어를 혼잡하게 하여 그들이 서로의 말을 알아듣지 못하게 하자, 하시고

8. 8 So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city.

   8 이렇게 주께서 그곳으로부터 그들을 온 지면에 널리 흩으셨으므로 그들이 그 도시 세우기를 그쳤더라.

9. 9 That is why it was called Babel--because there the LORD confused the language of the whole world. From there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

   9 그러므로 그들이 그 도시의 이름을 바벨이라 하였으니 이는 주께서 온 땅의 언어를 거기서 혼잡하게 하셨기 때문이라. 주께서 그들을 그곳으로부터 온 지면에 널리 흩으셨더라.

10. 10 This is the account of Shem. Two years after the flood, when Shem was 100 years old, he became the father of Arphaxad.

    10 ¶ 셈의 세대들은 이러하니라. 셈은 백 세였으며 홍수 뒤 이 년이 지났을 때 아르박삿을 낳았고

11. 11 And after he became the father of Arphaxad, Shem lived 500 years and had other sons and daughters.

    11 아르박삿을 낳은 뒤 오백 년을 살며 아들딸들을 낳았더라.

12. 12 When Arphaxad had lived 35 years, he became the father of Shelah.

    12 아르박삿은 삼십오 년을 살며 살라를 낳았고

13. 13 And after he became the father of Shelah, Arphaxad lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.

    13 살라를 낳은 뒤 사백삼 년을 살며 아들딸들을 낳았으며

14. 14 When Shelah had lived 30 years, he became the father of Eber.

    14 살라는 삼십 년을 살며 에벨을 낳았고

15. 15 And after he became the father of Eber, Shelah lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.

    15 에벨을 낳은 뒤 사백삼 년을 살며 아들딸들을 낳았더라.

16. 16 When Eber had lived 34 years, he became the father of Peleg.

    16 에벨은 삼십사 년을 살며 벨렉을 낳았고

17. 17 And after he became the father of Peleg, Eber lived 430 years and had other sons and daughters.

    17 벨렉을 낳은 뒤 사백삼십 년을 살며 아들딸들을 낳았으며

18. 18 When Peleg had lived 30 years, he became the father of Reu.

    18 벨렉은 삼십 년을 살며 르우를 낳았고

19. 19 And after he became the father of Reu, Peleg lived 209 years and had other sons and daughters.

    19 르우를 낳은 뒤 이백구 년을 살며 아들딸들을 낳았더라.

20. 20 When Reu had lived 32 years, he became the father of Serug.

    20 르우는 삼십이 년을 살며 스룩을 낳았고

21. 21 And after he became the father of Serug, Reu lived 207 years and had other sons and daughters.

    21 스룩을 낳은 뒤 이백칠 년을 살며 아들딸들을 낳았으며

22. 22 When Serug had lived 30 years, he became the father of Nahor.

    22 스룩은 삼십 년을 살며 나홀을 낳았고

23. 23 And after he became the father of Nahor, Serug lived 200 years and had other sons and daughters.

    23 나홀을 낳은 뒤 이백 년을 살며 아들딸들을 낳았더라.

24. 24 When Nahor had lived 29 years, he became the father of Terah.

    24 나홀은 이십구 년을 살며 데라를 낳았고

25. 25 And after he became the father of Terah, Nahor lived 119 years and had other sons and daughters.

    25 데라를 낳은 뒤 백십구 년을 살며 아들딸들을 낳았으며

26. 26 After Terah had lived 70 years, he became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran.

    26 데라는 칠십 년을 살며 아브람과 나홀과 하란을 낳았더라.

27. 27 This is the account of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot.

    27 ¶ 한편 데라의 세대들은 이러하니라. 데라는 아브람과 나홀과 하란을 낳았고 하란은 롯을 낳았는데

28. 28 While his father Terah was still alive, Haran died in Ur of the Chaldeans, in the land of his birth.

    28 하란은 자기가 태어난 땅인 갈대아 사람들의 우르에서 자기 아버지 데라보다 먼저 죽었더라.

29. 29 Abram and Nahor both married. The name of Abrams wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahors wife was Milcah; she was the daughter of Haran, the father of both Milcah and Iscah.

    29 아브람과 나홀이 자기를 위해 아내를 취하였는데 아브람의 아내의 이름은 사래이며 나홀의 아내의 이름은 밀가더라. 밀가는 하란의 딸이요, 하란은 밀가의 아버지며 또 이스가의 아버지더라.

30. 30 Now Sarai was barren; she had no children.

    30 그러나 사래는 수태하지 못하므로 아이가 없더라.

31. 31 Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Haran, they settled there.

    31 데라가 자기 아들 아브람과 하란의 아들 곧 자기 손자 롯과 자기 며느리 즉 자기 아들 아브람의 아내 사래를 데려갔으며 그들이 가나안 땅으로 들어가기 위해 저들과 함께 갈대아 사람들의 우르에서 나간 뒤 하란으로 가서 거기 거하였더라.

32. 32 Terah lived 205 years, and he died in Haran.

    32 데라의 생애는 이백오 년이었고 데라가 하란에서 죽으니라.
