창세기 16장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 Now Sarai, Abrams wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar;

   1 한편 아브람의 아내 사래는 그에게 아이를 낳지 못하였는데 그녀에게는 이집트 사람으로 하갈이라는 이름을 가진 한 여종이 있더라.

2. 2 so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her." Abram agreed to what Sarai said.

   2 사래가 아브람에게 이르되, 이제 보소서, 주께서 나를 막으사 아이를 낳지 못하게 하셨으니 원하건대 내 하녀에게로 들어가소서. 혹시 내가 그녀로 말미암아 아이들을 얻을 수도 있으리이다, 하매 아브람이 사래의 목소리에 귀를 기울이니라.

3. 3 So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife.

   3 아브람의 아내 사래가 자기 하녀인 이집트 사람 하갈을 데려다가 자기 남편 아브람에게 주어 그의 아내가 되게 한 것은 아브람이 가나안 땅에 십 년을 거한 뒤의 일이더라.

4. 4 He slept with Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress.

   4 ¶ 그가 하갈에게로 들어가니 그녀가 수태하매 그녀가 자신이 수태한 것을 알고 자기 눈앞에서 자기 여주인을 멸시하므로

5. 5 Then Sarai said to Abram, "You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me. May the LORD judge between you and me."

   5 사래가 아브람에게 이르되, 내가 겪고 있는 부당한 일이 당신에게 닥치기 원하나이다. 내가 내 하녀를 당신 품 안에 주었는데 그녀가 자신이 수태한 것을 알고 자기 눈앞에서 나를 멸시하니 주께서 나와 당신 사이의 시비를 판단하시기 원하나이다, 하였으나

6. 6 "Your servant is in your hands," Abram said. "Do with her whatever you think best." Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.

   6 아브람이 사래에게 이르되, 보라, 당신의 하녀는 당신 손안에 있으니 당신이 기뻐하는 대로 그녀에게 행하라, 하므로 사래가 그녀를 학대하였더니 그녀가 사래의 얼굴을 피해 도망하였더라.

7. 7 The angel of the LORD found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur.

   7 ¶ 주의 천사가 광야의 물 샘 옆 곧 수르로 가는 길에 있는 샘 옆에서 그녀를 찾아내어

8. 8 And he said, "Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?" "Im running away from my mistress Sarai," she answered.

   8 이르되, 사래의 하녀 하갈아, 너는 어디에서 왔느냐? 어디로 가느냐? 하니 그녀가 이르되, 나는 내 여주인 사래의 얼굴을 피해 도망하나이다, 하매

9. 9 Then the angel of the LORD told her, "Go back to your mistress and submit to her."

   9 주의 천사가 그녀에게 이르되, 네 여주인에게 돌아가 그녀의 손 밑에서 복종하라, 하고

10. 10 The angel added, "I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count."

    10 또 주의 천사가 그녀에게 이르되, 내가 네 씨를 크게 번성하게 하여 수가 많아 셀 수 없게 하리라, 하며

11. 11 The angel of the LORD also said to her: "You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery.

    11 또 주의 천사가 그녀에게 이르되, 보라, 네가 아이를 가졌으므로 아들을 낳으리니 그의 이름을 이스마엘이라 하라. 주께서 네 고통을 들으셨느니라.

12. 12 He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyones hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers."

    12 그가 들사람이 되리니 그의 손이 모든 사람을 대적하겠고 모든 사람의 손이 그를 대적할 것이며 그가 자기의 모든 형제들 얼굴 앞에 거하리라, 하니라.

13. 13 She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen the One who sees me."

    13 그녀가 자기에게 말씀하신 주의 이름을 주 곧 나를 보시는 하나님이라 하였으니 이는 그녀가 이르기를, 나도 여기에서 나를 보시는 분을 뵈었는가? 하였기 때문이더라.

14. 14 That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi; it is still there, between Kadesh and Bered.

    14 그러므로 그 샘은 브엘라해로이라고 불렸는데, 보라, 그것은 가데스와 베렛 사이에 있느니라.

15. 15 So Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne.

    15 ¶ 하갈이 아브람에게 아들을 낳으매 아브람이 하갈이 낳은 자기 아들의 이름을 이스마엘이라 하였더라.

16. 16 Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael.

    16 하갈이 아브람에게 이스마엘을 낳았을 때에 아브람은 팔십육 세더라.
