창세기 18장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 The LORD appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day.

   1 주께서 마므레의 평야에서 그에게 나타나시니라. 날이 더울 때에 그가 장막 문에 앉았다가

2. 2 Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.

   2 눈을 들어 바라보니, 보라, 세 남자가 자기 곁에 서 있으므로 그가 그들을 보고는 장막 문에서 달려가 그들을 맞이하며 땅바닥에 엎드려 절하고

3. 3 He said, "If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by.

   3 이르되, 내 주여, 이제 내가 주의 눈앞에서 호의를 입었거든 원하건대 주의 종을 떠나 지나가지 마시오며

4. 4 Let a little water be brought, and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree.

   4 원하건대 물을 조금 가져오게 하신 뒤 당신들의 발을 씻으시고 나무 밑에서 쉬소서.

5. 5 Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way--now that you have come to your servant." "Very well," they answered, "do as you say."

   5 내가 빵 한 조각을 가져오리니 당신들은 마음을 편안하게 하고 그 뒤에 지나가소서. 이런 까닭으로 당신들이 당신들의 종에게 오셨나이다, 하매 그들이 이르되, 네가 말한 대로 그리하라, 하니라.

6. 6 So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah. "Quick," he said, "get three seahs of fine flour and knead it and bake some bread."

   6 아브라함이 급히 장막에 있는 사라에게 들어가 말하되, 고운 가루 삼 스아를 속히 준비해서 반죽하여 화덕에다 납작한 빵들을 구우라, 하고

7. 7 Then he ran to the herd and selected a choice, tender calf and gave it to a servant, who hurried to prepare it.

   7 또 아브라함이 소 떼로 달려가 연하고 좋은 송아지를 가져다가 젊은이에게 주니 그가 급히 그것을 요리하므로

8. 8 He then brought some curds and milk and the calf that had been prepared, and set these before them. While they ate, he stood near them under a tree.

   8 아브라함이 버터와 우유와 젊은이가 요리한 송아지를 가져다가 그들 앞에 차려 놓고 나무 밑에 있는 그들 곁에 서매 그들이 먹으니라.

9. 9 "Where is your wife Sarah?" they asked him. "There, in the tent," he said.

   9 ¶ 그들이 그에게 이르되, 네 아내 사라가 어디 있느냐? 하니 그가 이르되, 보소서, 장막에 있나이다, 하매

10. 10 Then the LORD said, "I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son." Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him.

    10 그분께서 이르시되, 생명의 때를 따라 내가 확실히 네게 돌아오리니, 보라, 네 아내 사라에게 한 아들이 있으리라, 하시니라. 사라가 그의 뒤에 있는 장막 문에서 그것을 들었더라.

11. 11 Abraham and Sarah were already old and well advanced in years, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing.

    11 그런데 아브라함과 사라는 나이 많아 연로하였고 사라에게는 여인들의 관례에 따른 것이 멈추었으므로

12. 12 So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, "After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have this pleasure?"

    12 사라가 속으로 웃으며 이르되, 내가 늙었고 내 주(主)도 늙었는데 내게 즐거움이 있으리오? 하매

13. 13 Then the LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh and say, Will I really have a child, now that I am old?

    13 주께서 아브라함에게 이르시되, 어찌하여 사라가 웃으며 이르기를, 내가 늙었는데 정말로 아이를 낳으리오, 하느냐?

14. 14 Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son."

    14 주에게 너무 어려운 일이 있겠느냐? 생명의 때를 따라 정해진 때에 내가 네게 돌아오리니 사라에게 한 아들이 있으리라, 하시므로

15. 15 Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, "I did not laugh." But he said, "Yes, you did laugh."

    15 그때에 사라가 두려워서 부인하여 이르되, 내가 웃지 아니하였나이다, 하니 그분께서 이르시되, 아니라. 네가 웃었느니라, 하시니라.

16. 16 When the men got up to leave, they looked down toward Sodom, and Abraham walked along with them to see them on their way.

    16 ¶ 그 남자들이 거기서 일어나 소돔을 바라보매 아브라함은 그들을 배웅하러 그들과 함께 갔는데

17. 17 Then the LORD said, "Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?

    17 주께서 이르시되, 내가 하는 그 일을 아브라함에게 숨기리오?

18. 18 Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him.

    18 내가 보건대 아브라함은 분명히 크고 강력한 민족이 되며 땅의 모든 민족들이 그 안에서 복을 받으리니

19. 19 For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, so that the LORD will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him."

    19 이는 내가 그를 알기 때문이라. 그가 자기 아이들과 자기 뒤에 있을 자기 집안사람들에게 명령함으로써 그들이 주의 길을 지켜 정의와 판단의 공의를 행하게 하리니 이로써 주가 친히 아브라함에 관하여 말한 것을 그에게 이루리라, 하시고

20. 20 Then the LORD said, "The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous

    20 또 주께서 이르시되, 소돔과 고모라에 대한 부르짖음이 크고 그들의 죄가 심히 중하므로

21. 21 that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know."

    21 내가 이제 내려가서 그들이 행한 바가 내게 도달한 그곳에 대한 부르짖음과 전적으로 같은지 살펴보고 그렇지 않으면 그것 또한 알고자 하노라, 하시니라.

22. 22 The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the LORD.

    22 그 남자들은 거기서 얼굴을 돌려 소돔을 향해 갔으나 아브라함은 여전히 주 앞에 서 있다가

23. 23 Then Abraham approached him and said: "Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked?

    23 ¶ 아브라함이 가까이 가서 이르되, 주께서 또한 의로운 자를 사악한 자와 함께 멸하려 하시나이까?

24. 24 What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it?

    24 혹시 그 도시 안에 쉰 명의 의로운 자들이 있다면 어찌하시려나이까? 주께서 또한 그곳을 멸하시고 그 안에 있는 쉰 명의 의로운 자들로 인해 그곳을 용서하지 아니하시려나이까?

25. 25 Far be it from you to do such a thing--to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?"

    25 주께서 이런 식으로 행하사 의로운 자를 사악한 자와 함께 죽이시는 것은 결코 있을 수 없으며 의로운 자를 사악한 자처럼 여기시는 것도 결코 있을 수 없나이다. 온 땅의 심판자께서 의롭게 행하셔야 하지 아니하리이까? 하매

26. 26 The LORD said, "If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake."

    26 주께서 이르시되, 내가 만일 소돔에서 즉 그 도시 안에서 쉰 명의 의로운 자들을 찾으면 그들로 인해 그곳 전체를 용서하리라, 하시니라.

27. 27 Then Abraham spoke up again: "Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes,

    27 아브라함이 응답하여 이르되, 이제 보소서, 티끌과 재에 불과한 내가 감히 주께 말씀드리기로 작정하였나이다.

28. 28 what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city because of five people?" "If I find forty-five there," he said, "I will not destroy it."

    28 혹시 쉰 명의 의로운 자들 중에서 다섯 명이 부족하다면 어찌하시려나이까? 다섯 명이 부족하므로 주께서 그 온 도시를 멸하려 하시나이까? 하니 그분께서 이르시되, 내가 거기서 마흔다섯 명을 찾으면 그곳을 멸하지 아니하리라, 하시므로

29. 29 Once again he spoke to him, "What if only forty are found there?" He said, "For the sake of forty, I will not do it."

    29 그가 또다시 그분께 말하며 이르되, 혹시 거기서 마흔 명을 찾으신다면 어찌하시려나이까? 하니 그분께서 이르시되, 내가 마흔 명으로 인해 그 일을 하지 아니하리라, 하시니라.

30. 30 Then he said, "May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak. What if only thirty can be found there?" He answered, "I will not do it if I find thirty there."

    30 그가 그분께 이르되, 오 주께서는 노하지 마옵소서. 내가 말하리이다. 혹시 거기서 서른 명을 찾으신다면 어찌하시려나이까? 하니 그분께서 이르시되, 내가 거기서 서른 명을 찾으면 그 일을 하지 아니하리라, 하시므로

31. 31 Abraham said, "Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty can be found there?" He said, "For the sake of twenty, I will not destroy it."

    31 그가 이르되, 이제 보소서, 내가 감히 주께 말씀드리기로 작정하였나이다. 혹시 거기서 스무 명을 찾으신다면 어찌하시려나이까? 하니 그분께서 이르시되, 내가 스무 명으로 인해 그곳을 멸하지 아니하리라, 하시므로

32. 32 Then he said, "May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?" He answered, "For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it."

    32 그가 이르되, 오 주께서는 노하지 마옵소서. 내가 이번 한 번만 더 말하리이다. 혹시 거기서 열 명을 찾으신다면 어찌하시려나이까? 하니 그분께서 이르시되, 내가 열 명으로 인해 그곳을 멸하지 아니하리라, 하시니라.

33. 33 When the LORD had finished speaking with Abraham, he left, and Abraham returned home.

    33 주께서는 아브라함과 대화하기를 마치신 뒤 즉시 자신의 길로 가셨고 아브라함은 자기 처소로 돌아갔더라.
