창세기 21장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 Now the LORD was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did for Sarah what he had promised.

   1 주께서 친히 이르신 대로 사라를 찾아오셨고 주께서 친히 말씀하신 대로 사라에게 행하셨으므로

2. 2 Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him.

   2 사라가 수태하여 하나님께서 아브라함에게 말씀하신 그 정해진 때에 늙은 나이의 아브라함에게 아들을 낳으니

3. 3 Abraham gave the name Isaac to the son Sarah bore him.

   3 아브라함이 자기에게 태어난 자기 아들 곧 사라가 자기에게 낳은 아들의 이름을 이삭이라 하고

4. 4 When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him, as God commanded him.

   4 하나님께서 자기에게 명령하신 대로 자기 아들 이삭이 태어난 지 여드레가 되매 아브라함이 그에게 할례를 행하니라.

5. 5 Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.

   5 아브라함의 아들 이삭이 그에게 태어났을 때에 그는 백 세더라.

6. 6 Sarah said, "God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me."

   6 ¶ 사라가 이르되, 하나님께서 나를 웃게 하셨으므로 듣는 모든 자가 나와 함께 웃으리라, 하고

7. 7 And she added, "Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age."

   7 또 이르되, 사라가 아이들에게 젖을 주리라고 누가 아브라함에게 말하였으리오? 내가 늙은 나이의 아브라함에게 아들을 낳았도다, 하니라.

8. 8 The child grew and was weaned, and on the day Isaac was weaned Abraham held a great feast.

   8 아이가 자라 젖을 떼매 이삭이 젖을 뗀 바로 그날 아브라함이 큰 잔치를 베풀었더라.

9. 9 But Sarah saw that the son whom Hagar the Egyptian had borne to Abraham was mocking,

   9 ¶ 사라가 보니 이집트 사람 하갈의 아들 곧 그녀가 아브라함에게 낳은 아들이 이삭을 희롱하므로

10. 10 and she said to Abraham, "Get rid of that slave woman and her son, for that slave womans son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac."

    10 그녀가 아브라함에게 이르되, 이 노예 여자와 그녀의 아들을 내쫓으소서. 이 노예 여자의 아들은 내 아들 곧 이삭과 함께 상속자가 될 수 없나이다, 하매

11. 11 The matter distressed Abraham greatly because it concerned his son.

    11 자기 아들로 인해 이 일이 아브라함의 눈앞에서 큰 근심거리가 되니라.

12. 12 But God said to him, "Do not be so distressed about the boy and your maidservant. Listen to whatever Sarah tells you, because it is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.

    12 ¶ 하나님께서 아브라함에게 이르시되, 그 아이나 네 노예 여자로 인해 그 일을 네 눈앞에서 근심거리로 두지 말고 사라가 네게 말한 모든 것대로 그녀의 목소리에 귀를 기울이라. 이는 이삭 안에서 네 씨가 부름을 받을 것이기 때문이라.

13. 13 I will make the son of the maidservant into a nation also, because he is your offspring."

    13 그 노예 여자의 아들도 네 씨니 내가 그로부터도 한 민족을 만들리라, 하시니라.

14. 14 Early the next morning Abraham took some food and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar. He set them on her shoulders and then sent her off with the boy. She went on her way and wandered in the desert of Beersheba.

    14 아브라함이 아침에 일찍 일어나 빵과 물 한 부대를 취해 하갈에게 주되 그녀의 어깨에 그것을 메어 주고 그 아이를 주며 그녀를 내보내매 그녀가 떠나 브엘세바의 광야에서 방황하더라.

15. 15 When the water in the skin was gone, she put the boy under one of the bushes.

    15 부대의 물이 떨어지매 그녀가 그 아이를 떨기나무 중 하나의 밑에 두고

16. 16 Then she went off and sat down nearby, about a bowshot away, for she thought, "I cannot watch the boy die." And as she sat there nearby, she began to sob.

    16 화살이 미치는 거리만큼 떨어진 곳에 가서 그를 마주 보며 앉았으니 이는 그녀가 이르기를, 아이가 죽는 것을 내가 보지 못하겠다, 하였기 때문이더라. 그녀가 그를 마주 보며 앉아서 목소리를 높여 우니

17. 17 God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, "What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there.

    17 하나님께서 그 아이의 음성을 들으시니라. 하나님의 천사가 하늘에서 하갈을 불러 그녀에게 이르되, 하갈아, 무엇이 너를 괴롭게 하느냐? 두려워하지 말라. 하나님께서 그 아이가 있는 곳에서 그의 음성을 들으셨느니라.

18. 18 Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation."

    18 일어나 아이를 일으켜 네 손으로 붙들라. 내가 그를 큰 민족으로 만들리라, 하니라.

19. 19 Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.

    19 하나님께서 그녀의 눈을 열어 주시매 그녀가 물 있는 우물을 보고는 가서 부대에 물을 채우고 아이에게 주어 마시게 하니라.

20. 20 God was with the boy as he grew up. He lived in the desert and became an archer.

    20 하나님께서 그 아이와 함께하시매 그가 자라서 광야에 거하며 활 쏘는 자가 되었는데

21. 21 While he was living in the Desert of Paran, his mother got a wife for him from Egypt.

    21 그가 바란 광야에 거할 때에 그의 어머니가 그를 위해 이집트 땅에서 아내를 데려왔더라.

22. 22 At that time Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his forces said to Abraham, "God is with you in everything you do.

    22 ¶ 그때에 아비멜렉과 그의 군대 총대장인 비골이 아브라함에게 말하여 이르되, 네가 하는 모든 일에 하나님께서 너와 함께하시느니라.

23. 23 Now swear to me here before God that you will not deal falsely with me or my children or my descendants. Show to me and the country where you are living as an alien the same kindness I have shown to you."

    23 그러므로 이제 너는 나와 내 아들과 내 아들의 아들에게 거짓되게 행하지 아니하겠다고 여기에서 하나님을 두고 내게 맹세하며 내가 네게 행한 친절에 따라 너도 그렇게 나에게 행하고 또 네가 체류해 온 땅에 행하겠다고 맹세하라, 하니

24. 24 Abraham said, "I swear it."

    24 아브라함이 이르되, 내가 맹세하리라, 하고

25. 25 Then Abraham complained to Abimelech about a well of water that Abimelechs servants had seized.

    25 아비멜렉의 종들이 폭력으로 빼앗은 물 있는 우물로 인해 아브라함이 아비멜렉을 책망하매

26. 26 But Abimelech said, "I dont know who has done this. You did not tell me, and I heard about it only today."

    26 아비멜렉이 이르되, 누가 이 일을 행하였는지 나는 알지 못하노라. 너도 내게 그것을 고하지 아니하였고 나도 아직 듣지 못하였으며 오늘에야 들었노라, 하니라.

27. 27 So Abraham brought sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelech, and the two men made a treaty.

    27 아브라함이 양들과 소들을 취해 아비멜렉에게 주고 그들 둘이 언약을 맺었는데

28. 28 Abraham set apart seven ewe lambs from the flock,

    28 아브라함이 양 떼에서 어린 암양 일곱 마리를 따로 떼어 놓으니

29. 29 and Abimelech asked Abraham, "What is the meaning of these seven ewe lambs you have set apart by themselves?"

    29 아비멜렉이 아브라함에게 이르되, 네가 따로 떼어 놓은 이 어린 암양 일곱 마리는 무엇을 뜻하느냐? 하매

30. 30 He replied, "Accept these seven lambs from my hand as a witness that I dug this well."

    30 그가 이르되, 너는 내 손에서 이 어린 암양 일곱 마리를 취할지니라. 그리하면 그것들이 내가 이 우물을 팠다는 것에 대하여 내게 증거가 되리라, 하고

31. 31 So that place was called Beersheba, because the two men swore an oath there.

    31 그런 까닭으로 그가 그곳을 브엘세바라 하였으니 이는 그들 곧 그들 둘이 거기서 맹세하였기 때문이더라.

32. 32 After the treaty had been made at Beersheba, Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his forces returned to the land of the Philistines.

    32 이같이 그들이 브엘세바에서 언약을 맺었고 그 뒤에 아비멜렉과 그의 군대 총대장인 비골은 일어나 블레셋 사람들 땅으로 돌아갔더라.

33. 33 Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called upon the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.

    33 ¶ 아브라함이 브엘세바에 작은 숲을 심고 거기서 주 곧 영존하시는 하나님의 이름을 불렀으며

34. 34 And Abraham stayed in the land of the Philistines for a long time.

    34 또 아브라함이 블레셋 사람들 땅에서 여러 날을 체류하였더라.
