창세기 23장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 Sarah lived to be a hundred and twenty-seven years old.

   1 사라가 백이십칠 세였는데 이것이 사라가 누린 삶의 햇수더라.

2. 2 She died at Kiriath Arba (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan, and Abraham went to mourn for Sarah and to weep over her.

   2 사라는 기럇아르바에서 죽었으며 바로 그곳은 가나안 땅에 있는 헤브론이니라. 아브라함이 와서 사라로 인해 애곡하며 그녀로 인해 울었더라.

3. 3 Then Abraham rose from beside his dead wife and spoke to the Hittites. He said,

   3 ¶ 아브라함이 자기의 죽은 자 앞에서 일어나 헷의 아들들에게 말하여 이르되,

4. 4 "I am an alien and a stranger among you. Sell me some property for a burial site here so I can bury my dead."

   4 나는 나그네요, 너희와 함께하는 체류자니라. 너희에게 속한 소유 매장지를 내게 주어 내가 나의 죽은 자를 내 눈앞에서 옮겨 묻게 하라, 하매

5. 5 The Hittites replied to Abraham,

   5 헷의 자손들이 아브라함에게 응답하며 그에게 이르되,

6. 6 "Sir, listen to us. You are a mighty prince among us. Bury your dead in the choicest of our tombs. None of us will refuse you his tomb for burying your dead."

   6 내 주여, 우리 말을 들으소서. 당신은 우리 가운데서 강력한 통치자시니 우리의 돌무덤 중에서 좋은 것에 당신의 죽은 자를 묻으소서. 우리 중 아무도 자기 돌무덤을 당신에게 주지 아니하여 당신이 당신의 죽은 자를 묻지 못하게 하지 아니하리이다, 하매

7. 7 Then Abraham rose and bowed down before the people of the land, the Hittites.

   7 아브라함이 일어나 그 땅 백성 곧 헷의 자손들을 향해 몸을 굽히고

8. 8 He said to them, "If you are willing to let me bury my dead, then listen to me and intercede with Ephron son of Zohar on my behalf

   8 그들과 대화하며 이르되, 내가 나의 죽은 자를 내 눈앞에서 옮겨 묻는 것이 너희 생각이거든 내 말을 듣고 나를 위해 소할의 아들 에브론에게 간청하여

9. 9 so he will sell me the cave of Machpelah, which belongs to him and is at the end of his field. Ask him to sell it to me for the full price as a burial site among you."

   9 그가 그의 밭 끝에 있는 그의 소유 즉 막벨라 굴을 내게 주도록 하되 값이 나가는 대로 돈을 받고 그가 그 굴을 너희 가운데서 소유 매장지로 내게 주도록 하라, 하니라.

10. 10 Ephron the Hittite was sitting among his people and he replied to Abraham in the hearing of all the Hittites who had come to the gate of his city.

    10 에브론이 헷의 자손들 가운데 거하였는데 헷 족속 에브론이 헷의 자손들 곧 자기 도시의 문에 들어온 모든 자가 듣는 데서 아브라함에게 응답하여 이르되,

11. 11 "No, my lord," he said. "Listen to me; I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it. I give it to you in the presence of my people. Bury your dead."

    11 아니니이다. 내 주여, 내 말을 들으소서. 내가 그 밭을 당신께 드리고 그 안에 있는 굴도 당신께 드리되 내가 내 백성의 아들들 눈앞에서 그것을 당신께 드리니 당신의 죽은 자를 묻으소서, 하매

12. 12 Again Abraham bowed down before the people of the land

    12 아브라함이 그 땅 백성 앞에서 몸을 굽혀 절하고

13. 13 and he said to Ephron in their hearing, "Listen to me, if you will. I will pay the price of the field. Accept it from me so I can bury my dead there."

    13 그 땅 백성이 듣는 데서 에브론에게 말하여 이르되, 그러나 만일 네가 그것을 주려거든 원하건대 내 말을 들으라. 내가 그 밭값을 네게 주리니 내게서 그것을 받으라. 그러면 내가 나의 죽은 자를 거기에 묻으리라, 하매

14. 14 Ephron answered Abraham,

    14 에브론이 아브라함에게 응답하며 그에게 이르되,

15. 15 "Listen to me, my lord; the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver, but what is that between me and you? Bury your dead."

    15 내 주여, 내 말에 귀를 기울이소서. 그 땅값은 은 사백 세겔이나 그것이 나와 당신 사이에 무엇이니이까? 그러므로 당신의 죽은 자를 묻으소서, 하니라.

16. 16 Abraham agreed to Ephrons terms and weighed out for him the price he had named in the hearing of the Hittites: four hundred shekels of silver, according to the weight current among the merchants.

    16 아브라함이 에브론의 말에 귀를 기울이고 헷의 아들들이 듣는 데서 그가 지정한 대로 상인들이 널리 쓰는 돈으로 은 사백 세겔을 달아 에브론에게 주니

17. 17 So Ephrons field in Machpelah near Mamre--both the field and the cave in it, and all the trees within the borders of the field--was deeded

    17 ¶ 마므레 앞의 막벨라에 있는 에브론의 밭 곧 그 밭과 그 안에 있는 굴과 그 밭 안과 사방 모든 경계 안에 있는 모든 나무가

18. 18 to Abraham as his property in the presence of all the Hittites who had come to the gate of the city.

    18 헷의 자손들 눈앞에서, 그의 도시 문에 들어온 모든 자들 앞에서 아브라함의 소유로 확정되니라.

19. 19 Afterward Abraham buried his wife Sarah in the cave in the field of Machpelah near Mamre (which is at Hebron) in the land of Canaan.

    19 이 일 뒤에 아브라함이 자기 아내 사라를 마므레 앞의 막벨라 밭에 있는 굴에 묻었는데 바로 그곳은 가나안 땅에 있는 헤브론이니라.

20. 20 So the field and the cave in it were deeded to Abraham by the Hittites as a burial site.

    20 그 밭과 그 안에 있는 굴이 헷의 아들들에 의해 아브라함에게 소유 매장지로 확정되었더라.
