창세기 26장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 Now there was a famine in the land--besides the earlier famine of Abrahams time--and Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines in Gerar.

   1 아브라함 시대에 있었던 첫 번째 기근 말고 다른 기근이 그 땅에 들었으므로 이삭이 그랄에 있는 블레셋 사람들의 왕 아비멜렉에게 가니

2. 2 The LORD appeared to Isaac and said, "Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land where I tell you to live.

   2 주께서 그에게 나타나 이르시되, 이집트로 내려가지 말고 내가 네게 말해 줄 땅에 거하라.

3. 3 Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham.

   3 이 땅에 체류하라. 그러면 내가 너와 함께하며 네게 복을 주리라. 또 내가 이 모든 지역을 너와 네 씨에게 주고 내가 네 아버지 아브라함에게 맹세한 그 맹세를 이행할 것이며

4. 4 I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed,

   4 또 내가 네 씨를 하늘의 별들같이 번성하게 하고 이 모든 지역을 네 씨에게 주리니 네 씨 안에서 땅의 모든 민족들이 복을 받으리라.

5. 5 because Abraham obeyed me and kept my requirements, my commands, my decrees and my laws."

   5 이는 아브라함이 내 음성에 순종하고 내가 명한 것과 내 명령들과 내 법규들과 내 법들을 지켰기 때문이라, 하시니라.

6. 6 So Isaac stayed in Gerar.

   6 ¶ 이삭이 그랄에 거하였는데

7. 7 When the men of that place asked him about his wife, he said, "She is my sister," because he was afraid to say, "She is my wife." He thought, "The men of this place might kill me on account of Rebekah, because she is beautiful."

   7 그곳 사람들이 그의 아내에 관하여 그에게 물으매 그가 말하기를, 그녀는 내 누이라, 하였으니 이는 그가, 그녀는 내 아내라, 하고 말하기를 두려워하였기 때문이더라. 그가 말하기를, 리브가는 보기에 아름다우므로 그곳 사람들이 그녀로 인해 나를 죽일까 염려하노라, 하였더라.

8. 8 When Isaac had been there a long time, Abimelech king of the Philistines looked down from a window and saw Isaac caressing his wife Rebekah.

   8 그가 거기 오래 있었는데 블레셋 사람들의 왕 아비멜렉이 창에서 내다보다가 목격하매, 보라, 이삭이 자기 아내 리브가와 즐겁게 놀므로

9. 9 So Abimelech summoned Isaac and said, "She is really your wife! Why did you say, She is my sister?" Isaac answered him, "Because I thought I might lose my life on account of her."

   9 아비멜렉이 이삭을 불러 이르되, 보라, 그녀는 분명히 네 아내인데 어찌 네가 이르기를, 그녀는 내 누이라, 하였느냐? 하니 이삭이 그에게 이르되, 내가 이르기를, 그녀로 인해 내가 죽을까 염려하노라, 하였기 때문이라, 하매

10. 10 Then Abimelech said, "What is this you have done to us? One of the men might well have slept with your wife, and you would have brought guilt upon us."

    10 아비멜렉이 이르되, 네가 우리에게 행한 이 일이 무엇이냐? 백성 중 하나가 네 아내와 쉽게 누울 수 있었으니 네가 우리에게 죄를 가져올 뻔하였느니라, 하고

11. 11 So Abimelech gave orders to all the people: "Anyone who molests this man or his wife shall surely be put to death."

    11 아비멜렉이 자기의 온 백성에게 명하여 이르되, 이 사람이나 그의 아내를 건드리는 자는 반드시 죽임을 당하리라, 하였더라.

12. 12 Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the LORD blessed him.

    12 그때에 이삭이 그 땅에서 씨를 뿌려 바로 그 해에 백 배를 받았으며 주께서 그에게 복을 주셨으므로

13. 13 The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy.

    13 그 사람이 크게 되고 앞으로 나가 성장하여 마침내 심히 크게 되었더라.

14. 14 He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines envied him.

    14 그가 양 떼를 소유하고 소 떼를 소유하며 종들을 심히 많이 두었으므로 블레셋 사람들이 그를 시기하여

15. 15 So all the wells that his fathers servants had dug in the time of his father Abraham, the Philistines stopped up, filling them with earth.

    15 그의 아버지 아브라함 시대에 그의 아버지의 종들이 판 모든 우물을 블레셋 사람들이 막고 흙으로 메웠더라.

16. 16 Then Abimelech said to Isaac, "Move away from us; you have become too powerful for us."

    16 아비멜렉이 이삭에게 이르되, 너는 우리보다 훨씬 더 강력하니 우리에게서 떠나가라, 하매

17. 17 So Isaac moved away from there and encamped in the Valley of Gerar and settled there.

    17 ¶ 이삭이 그곳을 떠나 그랄 골짜기에 자기 장막을 치고 거기에 거하며

18. 18 Isaac reopened the wells that had been dug in the time of his father Abraham, which the Philistines had stopped up after Abraham died, and he gave them the same names his father had given them.

    18 자기 아버지 아브라함 시대에 그들이 팠던 물 내는 우물들을 다시 팠으니 이는 아브라함이 죽은 뒤에 블레셋 사람들이 그것들을 메웠기 때문이더라. 그가 그것들을 자기 아버지가 그것들을 부를 때 쓰던 이름대로 이름을 붙여 불렀더라.

19. 19 Isaacs servants dug in the valley and discovered a well of fresh water there.

    19 이삭의 종들이 골짜기를 판 뒤 거기서 물이 솟아나는 우물을 찾았는데

20. 20 But the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaacs herdsmen and said, "The water is ours!" So he named the well Esek, because they disputed with him.

    20 그랄의 목자들이 이삭의 목자들과 다투며 이르되, 그 물은 우리 것이라, 하므로 그가 그 우물 이름을 에섹이라 하였으니 이는 그들이 그와 다투었기 때문이더라.

21. 21 Then they dug another well, but they quarreled over that one also; so he named it Sitnah.

    21 그들이 다른 우물을 판 뒤 그것으로 인해서도 다투었으므로 그가 그것의 이름을 싯나라 하였고

22. 22 He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it Rehoboth, saying, "Now the LORD has given us room and we will flourish in the land."

    22 그가 거기서 옮겨 가서 다른 우물을 팠더니 그들이 그것으로 인해서는 다투지 아니하였으므로 그가 그것의 이름을 르호봇이라 하며 이르되, 이제 주께서 우리를 위해 자리를 만들어 주셨으니 그 땅에서 우리가 다산하리라, 하였더라.

23. 23 From there he went up to Beersheba.

    23 그가 거기를 떠나 브엘세바로 올라가매

24. 24 That night the LORD appeared to him and said, "I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you and will increase the number of your descendants for the sake of my servant Abraham."

    24 바로 그 밤에 주께서 그에게 나타나 이르시되, 나는 네 아버지 아브라함의 하나님이니 두려워하지 말라. 내 종 아브라함으로 인해 내가 너와 함께하며 네게 복을 주어 네 씨를 번성하게 하리라, 하셨으므로

25. 25 Isaac built an altar there and called on the name of the LORD. There he pitched his tent, and there his servants dug a well.

    25 그가 거기에 제단을 쌓고 주의 이름을 부르며 거기에 자기 장막을 쳤더니 이삭의 종들이 거기서 우물을 팠더라.

26. 26 Meanwhile, Abimelech had come to him from Gerar, with Ahuzzath his personal adviser and Phicol the commander of his forces.

    26 ¶ 그때에 아비멜렉이 자기 친구 중 하나인 아후삿과 자기 군대 총대장인 비골과 함께 그랄에서 떠나 그에게 오매

27. 27 Isaac asked them, "Why have you come to me, since you were hostile to me and sent me away?"

    27 이삭이 그들에게 이르되, 너희가 나를 미워하므로 나를 내보내어 너희를 떠나게 하였는데 어찌하여 내게 오느냐? 하니

28. 28 They answered, "We saw clearly that the LORD was with you; so we said, There ought to be a sworn agreement between us--between us and you. Let us make a treaty with you

    28 그들이 이르되, 주께서 너와 함께 계심을 우리가 분명히 보았으므로 우리가 말하기를, 이제 우리 사이 곧 우리와 너 사이에 맹세가 있어야 하리라. 또 우리가 너와 언약을 맺으리라, 하였노라.

29. 29 that you will do us no harm, just as we did not molest you but always treated you well and sent you away in peace. And now you are blessed by the LORD."

    29 우리가 네게 손을 대지 아니하고 선한 일만 네게 행하며 너를 평안히 내보낸 것같이 너는 우리를 해치지 말라. 이제 너는 주께 복받은 자니라, 하니라.

30. 30 Isaac then made a feast for them, and they ate and drank.

    30 그가 그들에게 잔치를 베풀매 그들이 먹고 마셨으며

31. 31 Early the next morning the men swore an oath to each other. Then Isaac sent them on their way, and they left him in peace.

    31 아침에 그들이 일찍 일어나 서로 맹세한 뒤에 이삭이 그들을 보내매 그들이 평안히 그에게서 떠났더라.

32. 32 That day Isaacs servants came and told him about the well they had dug. They said, "Weve found water!"

    32 바로 그날 이삭의 종들이 와서 자기들이 판 우물에 관해 그에게 고하며 그에게 이르되, 우리가 물을 찾았나이다, 하매

33. 33 He called it Shibah, and to this day the name of the town has been Beersheba.

    33 그가 그것을 세바라 하였더라. 그러므로 그 도시의 이름이 이날까지 브엘세바니라.

34. 34 When Esau was forty years old, he married Judith daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and also Basemath daughter of Elon the Hittite.

    34 ¶ 에서가 사십 세에 헷 족속 브에리의 딸 유딧과 헷 족속 엘론의 딸 바스맛을 아내로 취하였는데

35. 35 They were a source of grief to Isaac and Rebekah.

    35 그들이 이삭과 리브가에게 마음의 근심거리가 되었더라.
