창세기 34장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 Now Dinah, the daughter Leah had borne to Jacob, went out to visit the women of the land.

   1 레아의 딸 곧 레아가 야곱에게 낳은 딸 디나가 그 땅의 딸들을 보러 나갔는데

2. 2 When Shechem son of Hamor the Hivite, the ruler of that area, saw her, he took her and violated her.

   2 히위 족속 하몰의 아들로서 그 지역의 통치자인 세겜이 그녀를 보고는 데려가 그녀와 함께 눕고 그녀를 더럽히니라.

3. 3 His heart was drawn to Dinah daughter of Jacob, and he loved the girl and spoke tenderly to her.

   3 그의 혼이 야곱의 딸 디나에게 굳게 붙어 그가 그 소녀를 사랑하고 그 소녀에게 친절히 말하였으며

4. 4 And Shechem said to his father Hamor, "Get me this girl as my wife."

   4 세겜이 자기 아버지 하몰에게 말하여 이르되, 이 소녀를 내 아내로 얻어 주소서, 하였더라.

5. 5 When Jacob heard that his daughter Dinah had been defiled, his sons were in the fields with his livestock; so he kept quiet about it until they came home.

   5 그가 자기 딸 디나를 더럽혔다는 것을 야곱이 들었으나 그때에 자기 아들들이 들에서 자기 가축과 함께 있었으므로 그들이 올 때까지 야곱이 잠잠히 있었더라.

6. 6 Then Shechems father Hamor went out to talk with Jacob.

   6 ¶ 세겜의 아버지 하몰은 야곱과 대화하려고 그에게 왔으며

7. 7 Now Jacobs sons had come in from the fields as soon as they heard what had happened. They were filled with grief and fury, because Shechem had done a disgraceful thing in Israel by lying with Jacobs daughter--a thing that should not be done.

   7 야곱의 아들들은 그 소식을 듣고 들에서 왔더라. 그 사람들이 비탄에 잠겨 심히 노하였으니 이는 그가 야곱의 딸과 함께 누움으로 이스라엘 안에서 어리석은 짓 곧 해서는 안 될 것을 행하였기 때문이더라.

8. 8 But Hamor said to them, "My son Shechem has his heart set on your daughter. Please give her to him as his wife.

   8 하몰이 그들과 대화하며 이르되, 내 아들 세겜의 혼이 너희 딸을 사모하니 원하건대 그녀를 그에게 아내로 주라.

9. 9 Intermarry with us; give us your daughters and take our daughters for yourselves.

   9 너희는 우리와 결혼하여 너희 딸들을 우리에게 주고 우리 딸들을 너희에게 데려가라.

10. 10 You can settle among us; the land is open to you. Live in it, trade in it, and acquire property in it."

    10 너희가 우리와 함께 거하되 땅이 너희 앞에 있으리니 너희는 그 안에서 거하고 매매하며 그 안에서 소유를 얻으라, 하고

11. 11 Then Shechem said to Dinahs father and brothers, "Let me find favor in your eyes, and I will give you whatever you ask.

    11 세겜도 그녀의 아버지와 오라비들에게 이르되, 내가 너희 눈앞에서 은혜를 입게 하라. 그러면 너희가 내게 말하는 것을 내가 주리니

12. 12 Make the price for the bride and the gift I am to bring as great as you like, and Ill pay whatever you ask me. Only give me the girl as my wife."

    12 그 소녀만 내게 아내로 달라. 아무리 많은 지참금과 선물을 내게 요구할지라도 너희가 내게 말하는 대로 내가 주리라, 하므로

13. 13 Because their sister Dinah had been defiled, Jacobs sons replied deceitfully as they spoke to Shechem and his father Hamor.

    13 야곱의 아들들이 세겜과 그의 아버지 하몰에게 속임수로 응답하며 말하였으니 이는 그가 자기들의 누이 디나를 더럽혔기 때문이더라.

14. 14 They said to them, "We cant do such a thing; we cant give our sister to a man who is not circumcised. That would be a disgrace to us.

    14 그들이 저들에게 이르되, 우리는 이 일을 할 수 없노라. 할례받지 않은 사람에게 우리 누이를 줄 수 없나니 그것은 우리에게 치욕거리니라.

15. 15 We will give our consent to you on one condition only: that you become like us by circumcising all your males.

    15 그러나 이 조건하에서 우리가 너희에게 동의하리라. 즉 너희의 모든 남자가 할례를 받아 너희가 우리처럼 되면

16. 16 Then we will give you our daughters and take your daughters for ourselves. Well settle among you and become one people with you.

    16 우리가 우리 딸들을 너희에게 주고 너희 딸들을 우리에게 데려오며 너희와 함께 거하여 우리가 한 백성이 되리라.

17. 17 But if you will not agree to be circumcised, well take our sister and go."

    17 그러나 너희가 우리 말에 귀를 기울이지 아니하고 할례를 받지 아니하면 우리는 우리 딸을 데리고 다른 데로 가리라, 하니

18. 18 Their proposal seemed good to Hamor and his son Shechem.

    18 하몰과 하몰의 아들 세겜이 그들의 말을 기쁘게 여기니라.

19. 19 The young man, who was the most honored of all his fathers household, lost no time in doing what they said, because he was delighted with Jacobs daughter.

    19 그 청년이 야곱의 딸을 기뻐하였으므로 그 일 행하기를 지체하지 아니하였는데 그는 자기 아버지의 온 집보다 더 존귀하였더라.

20. 20 So Hamor and his son Shechem went to the gate of their city to speak to their fellow townsmen.

    20 ¶ 하몰과 그의 아들 세겜이 자기들의 도시 문으로 가서 자기들의 도시 사람들과 대화하며 이르되,

21. 21 "These men are friendly toward us," they said. "Let them live in our land and trade in it; the land has plenty of room for them. We can marry their daughters and they can marry ours.

    21 이 사람들이 우리와 평화롭게 지낼 수 있으니 그러므로 그들이 이 땅에 거주하며 그 안에서 매매하게 하자. 보라, 이 땅이 그들을 수용하기에 충분히 넓으니 우리가 그들의 딸들을 우리를 위해 아내로 데려오고 우리 딸들을 그들에게 주자.

22. 22 But the men will consent to live with us as one people only on the condition that our males be circumcised, as they themselves are.

    22 다만 우리 가운데서 모든 남자는 그들이 할례를 받은 것같이 할례를 받는다는 조건하에서 그 사람들이 우리에게 동의하여 우리와 함께 거하며 한 백성이 되리라.

23. 23 Wont their livestock, their property and all their other animals become ours? So let us give our consent to them, and they will settle among us."

    23 그들의 가축과 재산과 그들의 모든 짐승이 우리 것이 되지 아니하겠느냐? 다만 우리가 그들에게 동의하자. 그러면 그들이 우리와 함께 거하리라, 하니

24. 24 All the men who went out of the city gate agreed with Hamor and his son Shechem, and every male in the city was circumcised.

    24 그의 도시 문에서 나간 모든 자가 하몰과 그의 아들 세겜의 말에 귀를 기울이고 모든 남자 곧 그의 도시 문에서 나간 모든 자가 할례를 받으니라.

25. 25 Three days later, while all of them were still in pain, two of Jacobs sons, Simeon and Levi, Dinahs brothers, took their swords and attacked the unsuspecting city, killing every male.

    25 ¶ 셋째 날 그들이 아플 때에 야곱의 아들들 중 두 아들 곧 디나의 오라비들인 시므온과 레위가 각각 자기 칼을 취한 뒤 담대하게 그 도시를 습격하여 모든 남자들을 죽이고

26. 26 They put Hamor and his son Shechem to the sword and took Dinah from Shechems house and left.

    26 칼날로 하몰과 그의 아들 세겜을 죽이며 디나를 세겜의 집에서 밖으로 데리고 나왔더라.

27. 27 The sons of Jacob came upon the dead bodies and looted the city where their sister had been defiled.

    27 야곱의 아들들이 죽임당한 자들에게로 가서 그 도시를 노략하였으니 이는 그들이 자기들의 누이를 더럽혔기 때문이더라.

28. 28 They seized their flocks and herds and donkeys and everything else of theirs in the city and out in the fields.

    28 그 아들들이 그들의 양들과 소들과 나귀들과 그 도시 안에 있는 것과 들에 있는 것과

29. 29 They carried off all their wealth and all their women and children, taking as plunder everything in the houses.

    29 그들의 모든 재물을 빼앗고 그들의 모든 어린것들과 아내들을 포로로 사로잡고 집안에 있는 모든 것까지 노략하매

30. 30 Then Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, "You have brought trouble on me by making me a stench to the Canaanites and Perizzites, the people living in this land. We are few in number, and if they join forces against me and attack me, I and my household will be destroyed."

    30 야곱이 시므온과 레위에게 이르되, 너희가 나를 괴롭게 하여 내가 이 땅 거주민들 가운데서 곧 가나안 족속과 브리스 족속 가운데서 악취를 내게 하였느니라. 나는 수가 적으므로 그들이 나를 대적하려고 함께 모여 나를 죽이리니 그러면 나와 내 집이 멸망하리라, 하매

31. 31 But they replied, "Should he have treated our sister like a prostitute?"

    31 그들이 이르되, 그가 창녀를 대하듯 우리 누이를 대해야 하리이까? 하더라.
