창세기 39장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an Egyptian who was one of Pharaohs officials, the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there.

   1 요셉이 이집트로 끌려 내려가매 파라오의 직무 수행자로 호위대장인 이집트 사람 보디발이 그를 거기로 끌고 내려간 이스마엘 족속의 손에서 그를 사니라.

2. 2 The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master.

   2 주께서 요셉과 함께 계셨으므로 그가 매사에 형통한 사람이 되어 그의 주인인 이집트 사람 집에 있었는데

3. 3 When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did,

   3 주께서 그와 함께 계시는 것과 또 주께서 그가 행한 모든 일을 그의 손안에서 형통하게 하시는 것을 그의 주인이 보았더라.

4. 4 Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.

   4 요셉이 그의 눈앞에서 은혜를 입어 그를 섬기매 그가 요셉을 자기 집을 감독하는 자로 삼고 자기가 소유한 모든 것을 요셉의 손에 맡기니

5. 5 From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the LORD blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the LORD was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field.

   5 그가 요셉을 자기 집과 자기가 소유한 모든 것을 감독하는 자로 삼은 뒤부터 주께서 요셉으로 인해 그 이집트 사람의 집에 복을 내리셨으므로 주의 복이 집과 들에서 그가 소유한 모든 것에 임하매

6. 6 So he left in Josephs care everything he had; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate. Now Joseph was well-built and handsome,

   6 그가 자기가 소유한 모든 것을 요셉의 손에 맡기고 자기가 먹는 빵 외에는 자기가 소유한 어떤 것도 알지 아니하였더라. 요셉은 용모가 준수하고 잘생겼더라.

7. 7 and after a while his masters wife took notice of Joseph and said, "Come to bed with me!"

   7 ¶ 이 일들 뒤에 그의 주인의 아내가 요셉에게 눈길을 보내다가 말하기를, 나와 함께 눕자, 하였으나

8. 8 But he refused. "With me in charge," he told her, "my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care.

   8 그가 거절하고 자기 주인의 아내에게 이르되, 보소서, 내 주인이 집에서 내게 무슨 일이 있는지 알지 못하며 또 자기가 소유한 모든 것을 주인이 내 손에 맡겼으므로

9. 9 No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?"

   9 이 집에는 나보다 더 큰 자가 없고 주인이 당신 외에는 아무것도 내게 금하지 아니하였으니 이는 당신이 그의 아내이기 때문이니이다. 그런즉 내가 어찌 이 큰 악을 행하여 하나님께 죄를 지을 수 있으리이까? 하니라.

10. 10 And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.

    10 그녀가 날마다 요셉에게 말하였으나 그가 그녀의 말에 귀를 기울이지 아니하고 옆에 눕지 아니할 뿐만 아니라 함께 있지도 아니하였더라.

11. 11 One day he went into the house to attend to his duties, and none of the household servants was inside.

    11 이럴 즈음에 요셉이 자기 일을 보러 집에 들어갔는데 거기에는 그 집 사람들이 안에 하나도 없었더라.

12. 12 She caught him by his cloak and said, "Come to bed with me!" But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house.

    12 그녀가 그의 옷을 잡고 이르되, 나와 함께 눕자, 하므로 그가 자기 옷을 그녀의 손에 버려둔 채 도망하여 나가매

13. 13 When she saw that he had left his cloak in her hand and had run out of the house,

    13 그가 그의 옷을 자기 손에 버려둔 채 도망하여 나감을 그녀가 보고

14. 14 she called her household servants. "Look," she said to them, "this Hebrew has been brought to us to make sport of us! He came in here to sleep with me, but I screamed.

    14 자기 집 사람들을 불러 그들에게 말하여 이르되, 보라, 주인이 히브리 사람을 우리에게 데려와 우리를 희롱하게 하였도다. 그가 나와 함께 누우려고 내게로 들어오기에 내가 큰 소리로 외쳤더니

15. 15 When he heard me scream for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house."

    15 내가 소리를 높여 외치는 것을 그가 듣고는 자기 옷을 내게 버려두고 도망하여 나갔느니라, 하며

16. 16 She kept his cloak beside her until his master came home.

    16 자기 주인이 집으로 올 때까지 그의 옷을 자기 곁에 두니라.

17. 17 Then she told him this story: "That Hebrew slave you brought us came to me to make sport of me.

    17 그녀가 이 말들로 그에게 말하여 이르되, 당신이 우리에게 데려온 히브리 종이 나를 희롱하려고 내게로 들어오기에

18. 18 But as soon as I screamed for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house."

    18 내가 소리를 높여 외쳤더니 그가 자기 옷을 내게 버려두고 도망하여 나갔나이다, 하매

19. 19 When his master heard the story his wife told him, saying, "This is how your slave treated me," he burned with anger.

    19 그의 주인이 자기 아내의 말들 곧 그녀가 자기에게 말하여 이르기를, 당신의 종이 내게 이런 식으로 행하였다, 하는 말들을 들을 때에 그의 진노가 타올라

20. 20 Josephs master took him and put him in prison, the place where the kings prisoners were confined. But while Joseph was there in the prison,

    20 요셉의 주인이 그를 잡아 감옥에 넣었는데 그곳은 왕의 죄수들을 결박해 둔 곳이더라. 그가 거기서 감옥에 있었더라.

21. 21 the LORD was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.

    21 ¶ 그러나 주께서 요셉과 함께 계시며 그에게 긍휼을 보이사 감옥의 간수 눈앞에서 그에게 호의를 베푸시매

22. 22 So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there.

    22 감옥의 간수가 감옥에 있는 모든 죄수들을 요셉의 손에 맡기므로 그들이 거기서 무슨 일을 하든지 그가 다 그 일을 시행하였더라.

23. 23 The warden paid no attention to anything under Josephs care, because the LORD was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.

    23 감옥의 간수는 그의 손 밑에 둔 것은 어떤 것도 돌아보지 아니하였으니 이는 주께서 그와 함께 계셨고 그가 행하는 것을 주께서 형통하게 하셨기 때문이더라.
