창세기 4장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, "With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a man."

   1 아담이 자기 아내 이브를 알매 그녀가 수태하여 가인을 낳고 이르되, 내가 주로부터 남자를 얻었다, 하니라.

2. 2 Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil.

   2 그녀가 다시 그의 동생 아벨을 낳았는데 아벨은 양을 지키는 자였으나 가인은 땅을 가는 자였더라.

3. 3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD.

   3 시간이 흐른 뒤에 가인은 땅의 열매 중에서 주께 헌물을 가져왔고

4. 4 But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering,

   4 아벨도 자기 양 떼의 첫 새끼들과 그것들의 기름 중에서 가져왔는데 주께서 아벨과 그의 헌물에는 관심을 보이셨으나

5. 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.

   5 가인과 그의 헌물에는 관심을 보이지 아니하셨으므로 가인이 몹시 분을 내고 그의 얼굴이 침울해지니라.

6. 6 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?

   6 주께서 가인에게 이르시되, 네가 어찌하여 분을 내느냐? 어찌하여 네 얼굴이 침울해졌느냐?

7. 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."

   7 네가 잘 행하면 내가 네 헌물을 받지 아니하겠느냐? 그러나 네가 잘 행하지 아니하면 죄가 문에 엎드려 있느니라. 그의 열망이 네게 있으리니 너는 그를 다스릴 것이니라, 하시니라.

8. 8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, "Lets go out to the field." And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

   8 가인이 자기 동생 아벨과 이야기하더니 그 뒤에 그들이 들에 있을 때에 가인이 자기 동생 아벨을 대적하여 일어나 그를 죽이니라.

9. 9 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?" "I dont know," he replied. "Am I my brothers keeper?"

   9 ¶ 주께서 가인에게 이르시되, 네 동생 아벨이 어디 있느냐? 하시니 그가 이르되, 내가 알지 못하나이다. 내가 내 동생을 지키는 자니이까? 하매

10. 10 The LORD said, "What have you done? Listen! Your brothers blood cries out to me from the ground.

    10 그분께서 이르시되, 네가 무엇을 하였느냐? 네 동생의 피 소리가 땅바닥에서부터 내게 부르짖느니라.

11. 11 Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brothers blood from your hand.

    11 땅이 자기 입을 벌려 네 손에서 네 동생의 피를 받았으므로 이제 네가 땅에게 저주를 받았나니

12. 12 When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth."

    12 네가 땅을 갈아도 이후로는 땅이 너를 위해 자기 효력을 내지 아니할 것이요, 너는 땅에서 도망자와 방랑자가 되리라, 하시매

13. 13 Cain said to the LORD, "My punishment is more than I can bear.

    13 가인이 주께 이르되, 내 형벌이 내가 감당할 수 있는 것 이상으로 크니이다.

14. 14 Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me."

    14 보소서, 주께서 이날 지면으로부터 나를 쫓아내셨으니 내가 주의 얼굴을 떠나 숨으리이다. 내가 땅에서 도망자와 방랑자가 되리니 나를 찾는 모든 자가 나를 죽이리이다, 하매

15. 15 But the LORD said to him, "Not so; if anyone kills Cain, he will suffer vengeance seven times over." Then the LORD put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him.

    15 주께서 그에게 이르시되, 이런 까닭으로 누구든지 가인을 죽이는 자는 일곱 배로 보복을 받으리라, 하시고 주께서 가인 위에 표를 두사 누가 그를 만나더라도 그를 죽이지 못하게 하시니라.

16. 16 So Cain went out from the LORDS presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

    16 ¶ 가인이 주의 얼굴 앞에서 물러가 에덴의 동쪽에 있는 놋 땅에 거하였더라.

17. 17 Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch. Cain was then building a city, and he named it after his son Enoch.

    17 가인이 자기 아내를 알았더니 그녀가 수태하여 에녹을 낳았으므로 그가 한 도시를 세우고 자기 아들의 이름을 따라 그 도시의 이름을 에녹이라 하니라.

18. 18 To Enoch was born Irad, and Irad was the father of Mehujael, and Mehujael was the father of Methushael, and Methushael was the father of Lamech.

    18 에녹에게 이랏이 태어났는데 이랏은 므후야엘을 낳고 므후야엘은 므두사엘을 낳고 므두사엘은 라멕을 낳았더라.

19. 19 Lamech married two women, one named Adah and the other Zillah.

    19 ¶ 라멕이 자기를 위해 두 아내를 취하였는데 하나의 이름은 아다요, 다른 하나의 이름은 실라더라.

20. 20 Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who live in tents and raise livestock.

    20 아다가 야발을 낳았는데 그는 장막에 거하는 자들과 가축을 소유한 자들의 조상이 되었고

21. 21 His brothers name was Jubal; he was the father of all who play the harp and flute.

    21 그의 형제의 이름은 유발이었는데 그는 하프와 관악기를 다루는 모든 자들의 조상이 되었더라.

22. 22 Zillah also had a son, Tubal-Cain, who forged all kinds of tools out of bronze and iron. Tubal-Cains sister was Naamah.

    22 실라도 두발가인을 낳았는데 그는 놋과 쇠로 된 것을 만드는 모든 장인을 가르치는 자요, 두발가인의 누이는 나아마더라.

23. 23 Lamech said to his wives, "Adah and Zillah, listen to me; wives of Lamech, hear my words. I have killed a man for wounding me, a young man for injuring me.

    23 라멕이 자기 아내들에게 이르되, 아다와 실라여, 내 음성을 들으라. 라멕의 아내들이여, 너희는 내 말에 귀를 기울이라. 내게 상처를 입힌 남자를 내가 죽였고 나를 다치게 한 청년을 죽였느니라.

24. 24 If Cain is avenged seven times, then Lamech seventy-seven times."

    24 가인을 위해 일곱 배로 복수가 이루어질 것이라면 참으로 라멕을 위해서는 일흔일곱 배로 복수가 이루어지리라, 하였더라.

25. 25 Adam lay with his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, "God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him."

    25 ¶ 아담이 다시 자기 아내를 알매 그녀가 아들을 낳아 그의 이름을 셋이라 하였으니 이는 그녀가 이르기를, 가인이 죽인 아벨 대신 하나님께서 내게 다른 씨를 정해 주셨다, 하였기 때문이더라.

26. 26 Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh. At that time men began to call on the name of the LORD.

    26 셋에게도 즉 그에게도 아들이 태어나매 셋이 그의 이름을 에노스라 하였는데 그때에 사람들이 주의 이름을 부르기 시작하였더라.
