창세기 47장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 Joseph went and told Pharaoh, "My father and brothers, with their flocks and herds and everything they own, have come from the land of Canaan and are now in Goshen."

   1 그때에 요셉이 가서 파라오에게 고하여 이르되, 내 아버지와 내 형제들과 그들의 양 떼와 소 떼와 그들의 모든 소유가 가나안 땅에서 왔으며, 보소서, 그들이 고센 땅에 있나이다, 하고

2. 2 He chose five of his brothers and presented them before Pharaoh.

   2 자기 형제들 중에서 몇 사람 곧 다섯 사람을 취해 파라오에게 그들을 보이니

3. 3 Pharaoh asked the brothers, "What is your occupation?" "Your servants are shepherds," they replied to Pharaoh, "just as our fathers were."

   3 파라오가 그의 형제들에게 이르되, 너희 직업이 무엇이냐? 하매 그들이 파라오에게 이르되, 주의 종들은 목자들인데 우리와 또한 우리 조상들이 다 그러하니이다, 하고

4. 4 They also said to him, "We have come to live here awhile, because the famine is severe in Canaan and your servants flocks have no pasture. So now, please let your servants settle in Goshen."

   4 그들이 또 파라오에게 이르되, 가나안 땅에 기근이 심하여 주의 종들에게 양 떼를 먹일 초장이 없기에 우리가 이 땅에 체류하려고 왔사오니 그러므로 이제 원하건대 주의 종들이 고센 땅에 거하게 하소서, 하니라.

5. 5 Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Your father and your brothers have come to you,

   5 파라오가 요셉에게 말하여 이르되, 네 아버지와 형제들이 네게 왔도다.

6. 6 and the land of Egypt is before you; settle your father and your brothers in the best part of the land. Let them live in Goshen. And if you know of any among them with special ability, put them in charge of my own livestock."

   6 이집트 땅이 네 앞에 있으니 네 아버지와 형제들이 이 땅에서 가장 좋은 곳에 거하게 하되 그들이 고센 땅에 거하게 하고 그들 가운데 활동력 있는 사람들을 네가 알거든 그들이 내 가축을 맡아 관리하는 자들이 되게 하라, 하였더라.

7. 7 Then Joseph brought his father Jacob in and presented him before Pharaoh. After Jacob blessed Pharaoh,

   7 요셉이 자기 아버지 야곱을 데려가 파라오 앞에 서게 하니 야곱이 파라오를 축복하매

8. 8 Pharaoh asked him, "How old are you?"

   8 파라오가 야곱에게 이르되, 그대의 연세가 얼마나 되느냐? 하니

9. 9 And Jacob said to Pharaoh, "The years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty. My years have been few and difficult, and they do not equal the years of the pilgrimage of my fathers."

   9 야곱이 파라오에게 이르되, 내 순롓길 햇수의 날이 백삼십 년이니이다. 내 삶의 햇수의 날이 얼마 안 되고 험악하였으며 내 조상들이 순례하던 때에 그들이 누린 삶의 햇수의 날에는 미치지 못하였나이다, 하고

10. 10 Then Jacob blessed Pharaoh and went out from his presence.

    10 야곱이 파라오를 축복한 뒤 파라오 앞에서 나오니라.

11. 11 So Joseph settled his father and his brothers in Egypt and gave them property in the best part of the land, the district of Rameses, as Pharaoh directed.

    11 ¶ 요셉이 파라오가 명령한 대로 자기 아버지와 형제들을 정착시키고 이집트 땅에서 그들에게 소유를 주되 그 땅의 가장 좋은 곳인 라메셋 땅에서 주었으며

12. 12 Joseph also provided his father and his brothers and all his fathers household with food, according to the number of their children.

    12 또 자기 아버지와 형제들과 자기 아버지의 온 집안사람들을 빵으로 부양하되 그들의 가족에 따라 그리하였더라.

13. 13 There was no food, however, in the whole region because the famine was severe; both Egypt and Canaan wasted away because of the famine.

    13 ¶ 기근이 매우 심해 온 땅에 빵이 없었으므로 이집트 땅과 가나안 온 땅이 기근으로 기진하였더라.

14. 14 Joseph collected all the money that was to be found in Egypt and Canaan in payment for the grain they were buying, and he brought it to Pharaohs palace.

    14 그들이 곡식을 샀으므로 요셉이 이집트 땅과 가나안 땅에서 찾은 모든 돈을 거두어 그 돈을 파라오의 집으로 가져왔더라.

15. 15 When the money of the people of Egypt and Canaan was gone, all Egypt came to Joseph and said, "Give us food. Why should we die before your eyes? Our money is used up."

    15 이집트 땅과 가나안 땅에 돈이 떨어지매 모든 이집트 사람들이 요셉에게 와서 이르되, 우리에게 빵을 주소서. 우리가 어찌하여 돈이 떨어진 연고로 주의 눈앞에서 죽어야 하리이까? 하매

16. 16 "Then bring your livestock," said Joseph. "I will sell you food in exchange for your livestock, since your money is gone."

    16 요셉이 이르되, 너희 가축을 내라. 돈이 떨어졌으면 내가 너희 가축과 바꾸어 너희에게 빵을 주리라, 하니

17. 17 So they brought their livestock to Joseph, and he gave them food in exchange for their horses, their sheep and goats, their cattle and donkeys. And he brought them through that year with food in exchange for all their livestock.

    17 그들이 자기들의 가축을 요셉에게 끌어오매 요셉이 말과 양 떼와 소 떼의 가축과 나귀를 받고 그 대신 그들에게 빵을 주되 곧 그 해에 그들의 모든 가축을 받고 빵으로 그들을 먹이니라.

18. 18 When that year was over, they came to him the following year and said, "We cannot hide from our lord the fact that since our money is gone and our livestock belongs to you, there is nothing left for our lord except our bodies and our land.

    18 그 해가 끝나고 다음 해에 그들이 그에게 와서 그에게 이르되, 우리가 내 주께 숨기지 아니하리이다. 우리 돈이 소진되었고 내 주께서 우리 가축 떼도 가지셨으니 우리 몸과 땅 외에는 내 주의 눈앞에 남은 것이 하나도 없나이다.

19. 19 Why should we perish before your eyes--we and our land as well? Buy us and our land in exchange for food, and we with our land will be in bondage to Pharaoh. Give us seed so that we may live and not die, and that the land may not become desolate."

    19 우리가 어찌하여 우리 땅과 함께 주의 눈앞에서 죽어야 하리이까? 우리와 우리 땅을 사시고 그 대신 빵을 주소서. 우리가 땅과 함께 파라오의 종이 되리니 우리에게 씨를 주시면 우리가 살고 죽지 아니할 것이며 땅도 황폐하게 되지 아니하리이다, 하니라.

20. 20 So Joseph bought all the land in Egypt for Pharaoh. The Egyptians, one and all, sold their fields, because the famine was too severe for them. The land became Pharaohs,

    20 요셉이 파라오를 위해 이집트 온 땅을 샀으니 이는 기근이 이집트 사람들을 압도하였으므로 그들이 각각 자기 땅을 팔았기 때문이더라. 이렇게 땅이 파라오의 소유가 되니라.

21. 21 and Joseph reduced the people to servitude, from one end of Egypt to the other.

    21 백성에 관하여는 그가 그들을 이집트 경계의 이 끝에서 저 끝까지 도시들로 옮겼으나

22. 22 However, he did not buy the land of the priests, because they received a regular allotment from Pharaoh and had food enough from the allotment Pharaoh gave them. That is why they did not sell their land.

    22 제사장들의 땅만은 그가 사지 아니하였더라. 제사장들은 파라오가 그들에게 지정해 준 몫을 가졌고 파라오가 그들에게 준 그들의 몫을 먹었으므로 자기들의 땅을 팔지 아니하였더라.

23. 23 Joseph said to the people, "Now that I have bought you and your land today for Pharaoh, here is seed for you so you can plant the ground.

    23 그때에 요셉이 백성에게 이르되, 보라, 내가 이날 파라오를 위해 너희와 너희 땅을 샀노라. 보라, 여기 너희를 위해 씨가 있으니 너희는 땅에 씨를 뿌릴지니라.

24. 24 But when the crop comes in, give a fifth of it to Pharaoh. The other four-fifths you may keep as seed for the fields and as food for yourselves and your households and your children."

    24 너희는 늘어난 것에서 오분의 일은 파라오에게 바치고 오분의 사는 너희 것으로 삼되 들의 씨로 삼고 너희 양식으로도 삼으며 너희 집안에 속한 자들과 어린것들의 양식으로도 삼으라, 하매

25. 25 "You have saved our lives," they said. "May we find favor in the eyes of our lord; we will be in bondage to Pharaoh."

    25 그들이 이르되, 주께서 우리 생명을 구원하셨으니 우리가 내 주의 눈앞에서 은혜를 입게 하소서. 우리가 파라오의 종이 되겠나이다, 하니라.

26. 26 So Joseph established it as a law concerning land in Egypt--still in force today--that a fifth of the produce belongs to Pharaoh. It was only the land of the priests that did not become Pharaohs.

    26 요셉이 이집트 땅에 관한 법 즉 파라오가 오분의 일을 갖되 제사장들의 땅만은 예외로 하여 그것이 파라오의 소유가 되지 아니하게 한 것을 법으로 세우매 이날까지 그것이 내려오고 있느니라.

27. 27 Now the Israelites settled in Egypt in the region of Goshen. They acquired property there and were fruitful and increased greatly in number.

    27 ¶ 이스라엘이 이집트 땅에서 고센 지방에 거하였으며 그들이 그 안에서 소유물을 얻고 자라나서 매우 번성하였더라.

28. 28 Jacob lived in Egypt seventeen years, and the years of his life were a hundred and forty-seven.

    28 야곱이 이집트 땅에서 십칠 년 동안 살았으므로 이에 야곱의 전체 나이가 백사십칠 세더라.

29. 29 When the time drew near for Israel to die, he called for his son Joseph and said to him, "If I have found favor in your eyes, put your hand under my thigh and promise that you will show me kindness and faithfulness. Do not bury me in Egypt,

    29 이스라엘이 반드시 죽어야 할 때가 가까이 오매 그가 자기 아들 요셉을 불러 그에게 이르되, 이제 내가 네 눈앞에서 은혜를 입었거든 원하건대 네 손을 내 넓적다리 밑으로 넣어 친절하고 진실하게 나를 대접하라. 원하건대 나를 이집트에 묻지 말라.

30. 30 but when I rest with my fathers, carry me out of Egypt and bury me where they are buried." "I will do as you say," he said.

    30 오히려 내가 내 조상들과 함께 누우리니 너는 나를 이집트에서 옮겨 그들의 묘지에 나를 묻으라, 하매 요셉이 이르되, 내가 아버지께서 말씀하신 대로 행하리이다, 하니

31. 31 "Swear to me," he said. Then Joseph swore to him, and Israel worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff.

    31 이스라엘이 이르되, 내게 맹세하라, 하매 요셉이 그에게 맹세하니 이스라엘이 침상 머리에 기대어 몸을 숙이니라.
