창세기 48장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 Some time later Joseph was told, "Your father is ill." So he took his two sons Manasseh and Ephraim along with him.

   1 이 일들 뒤에 어떤 이가 요셉에게 고하기를, 보라, 네 아버지가 병들었다, 하므로 그가 자기의 두 아들 곧 므낫세와 에브라임을 데려가니

2. 2 When Jacob was told, "Your son Joseph has come to you," Israel rallied his strength and sat up on the bed.

   2 어떤 이가 야곱에게 고하여 이르되, 보소서, 당신의 아들 요셉이 당신에게 왔나이다, 하매 이스라엘이 힘을 내어 침상에 앉으니라.

3. 3 Jacob said to Joseph, "God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and there he blessed me

   3 야곱이 요셉에게 이르되, 하나님 곧 전능자께서 가나안 땅 루스에서 내게 나타나 내게 복을 주시며

4. 4 and said to me, I am going to make you fruitful and will increase your numbers. I will make you a community of peoples, and I will give this land as an everlasting possession to your descendants after you.

   4 내게 이르시기를, 보라, 내가 너를 다산하게 하고 번성하게 하여 너로부터 수많은 백성을 만들 것이며 네 뒤를 이을 네 씨에게 이 땅을 주어 영존하는 소유가 되게 하리라, 하셨느니라.

5. 5 "Now then, your two sons born to you in Egypt before I came to you here will be reckoned as mine; Ephraim and Manasseh will be mine, just as Reuben and Simeon are mine.

   5 ¶ 내가 이집트에 있는 네게로 오기 전에 이집트 땅에서 네게 태어난 네 두 아들 에브라임과 므낫세는 이제 내 것이니라. 르우벤과 시므온처럼 그들은 내 것이 될 것이요,

6. 6 Any children born to you after them will be yours; in the territory they inherit they will be reckoned under the names of their brothers.

   6 네게서 나올 자 곧 그들 다음에 네가 낳을 자들이 네 것이 될 것이며 그들은 자기 형들의 상속재산 가운데서 자기 형들의 이름을 따라 이름이 붙여지리라.

7. 7 As I was returning from Paddan, to my sorrow Rachel died in the land of Canaan while we were still on the way, a little distance from Ephrath. So I buried her there beside the road to Ephrath" (that is, Bethlehem).

   7 나에 대해 말하자면 내가 밧단에서 올 때, 에브랏까지 갈 길이 아직 조금 남아 있을 때에 라헬이 도중에 가나안 땅에서 내 곁에서 죽었으므로 내가 거기서 그녀를 에브랏 길에 묻었는데 바로 그곳은 베들레헴이니라, 하니라.

8. 8 When Israel saw the sons of Joseph, he asked, "Who are these?"

   8 이스라엘이 요셉의 아들들을 보고 이르되, 이들은 누구냐? 하니

9. 9 "They are the sons God has given me here," Joseph said to his father. Then Israel said, "Bring them to me so I may bless them."

   9 요셉이 자기 아버지에게 이르기를, 그들은 하나님께서 이곳에서 내게 주신 내 아들들이니이다, 하매 그가 이르되, 원하건대 그들을 내게 데려오라. 내가 그들을 축복하리라, 하니라.

10. 10 Now Israels eyes were failing because of old age, and he could hardly see. So Joseph brought his sons close to him, and his father kissed them and embraced them.

    10 그런데 이스라엘은 연로하여 눈이 어두워서 볼 수 없더라. 요셉이 그들을 그에게 가까이 데려가니 그가 그들에게 입 맞추고 그들을 안으며

11. 11 Israel said to Joseph, "I never expected to see your face again, and now God has allowed me to see your children too."

    11 이스라엘이 요셉에게 이르되, 내가 네 얼굴을 보리라고는 생각하지도 못하였는데, 보라, 하나님께서 내게 네 씨도 보여 주셨도다, 하니라.

12. 12 Then Joseph removed them from Israels knees and bowed down with his face to the ground.

    12 요셉이 그의 무릎 사이에서 그들을 데려오고 또 얼굴을 땅으로 향한 채 몸을 숙이며

13. 13 And Joseph took both of them, Ephraim on his right toward Israels left hand and Manasseh on his left toward Israels right hand, and brought them close to him.

    13 그들을 둘 다 데려가되 오른손으로는 에브라임을 취해 이스라엘의 왼손을 향하게 하고 왼손으로는 므낫세를 취해 이스라엘의 오른손을 향하게 하며 그들을 그에게 가까이 데려가매

14. 14 But Israel reached out his right hand and put it on Ephraims head, though he was the younger, and crossing his arms, he put his left hand on Manassehs head, even though Manasseh was the firstborn.

    14 이스라엘이 오른손을 내밀어 동생인 에브라임의 머리에 얹고 왼손을 므낫세의 머리에 얹으며 의도적으로 자기 손을 어긋맞게 유도하였으니 이는 므낫세가 맏아들이기 때문이더라.

15. 15 Then he blessed Joseph and said, "May the God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day,

    15 ¶ 그가 요셉을 축복하며 이르되, 내 조상 아브라함과 이삭이 걷는 것을 보신 하나님, 이날까지 나의 전 생애 동안 나를 먹이신 하나님

16. 16 the Angel who has delivered me from all harm--may he bless these boys. May they be called by my name and the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and may they increase greatly upon the earth."

    16 곧 나를 모든 악에서 구속하신 천사께서 이 아이들에게 복을 주시고 그들이 내 이름과 내 조상 아브라함과 이삭의 이름으로 불리게 하시며 그들이 땅의 한가운데서 자라나 한 무리가 되게 하시기를 원하나이다, 하니라.

17. 17 When Joseph saw his father placing his right hand on Ephraims head he was displeased; so he took hold of his fathers hand to move it from Ephraims head to Manassehs head.

    17 요셉이 자기 아버지가 아버지의 오른손을 에브라임의 머리에 얹은 것을 보고는 그것을 기뻐하지 아니하여 자기 아버지의 손을 에브라임의 머리에서 므낫세의 머리로 옮기려고 그것을 들며

18. 18 Joseph said to him, "No, my father, this one is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head."

    18 자기 아버지에게 이르되, 내 아버지여, 그리하지 마옵소서. 이 아이가 맏아들이니 아버지의 오른손을 그의 머리에 얹으소서, 하매

19. 19 But his father refused and said, "I know, my son, I know. He too will become a people, and he too will become great. Nevertheless, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his descendants will become a group of nations."

    19 그의 아버지가 거절하며 이르되, 내가 안다, 내 아들아, 내가 안다. 그도 한 백성이 되고 그도 크게 되겠지만 진실로 그의 동생이 그보다 더 크게 되며 그의 씨가 많은 민족들을 이루리라, 하고

20. 20 He blessed them that day and said, "In your name will Israel pronounce this blessing: May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh." So he put Ephraim ahead of Manasseh.

    20 그 날 그들을 축복하며 이르되, 네 안에서 이스라엘이 축복하여 말하기를, 하나님께서 너를 에브라임 같고 므낫세 같게 하시기를 원하노라, 하리라, 하니라. 이처럼 그가 에브라임을 므낫세보다 앞에 두었더라.

21. 21 Then Israel said to Joseph, "I am about to die, but God will be with you and take you back to the land of your fathers.

    21 또 이스라엘이 요셉에게 이르되, 보라, 나는 죽으나 하나님께서 너희와 함께하사 너희 조상들의 땅으로 너희를 다시 데려가시리라.

22. 22 And to you, as one who is over your brothers, I give the ridge of land I took from the Amorites with my sword and my bow."

    22 또한 내가 네게 네 형제들보다 한 몫을 더 주었는데 그것은 내가 내 칼과 내 활로 아모리 족속의 손에서 빼앗은 것이니라, 하였더라.
