출애굽기 2장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 Now a man of the house of Levi married a Levite woman,

   1 레위 집의 한 남자가 가서 레위의 딸을 아내로 취하니

2. 2 and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months.

   2 그 여인이 수태하여 아들을 낳으니라. 그가 준수한 아이임을 그녀가 보고 석 달 동안 그를 숨겼으나

3. 3 But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile.

   3 더 이상 숨길 수 없게 되매 그를 위해 갈대로 만든 궤를 가져다가 진흙과 역청으로 그것을 바른 뒤 아이를 그 안에 담아 강가의 부들들 가운데 두었는데

4. 4 His sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him.

   4 그의 누이가 그에게 무슨 일이 일어나는지 알아보려고 멀리 서 있었더라.

5. 5 Then Pharaohs daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the river bank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her slave girl to get it.

   5 ¶ 파라오의 딸이 강에서 목욕하러 내려오고 그녀의 시녀들은 강가를 거닐고 있었는데 그때 그녀가 부들들 사이에 있는 그 궤를 보고 자기 시녀를 보내어 그것을 가져오게 한 뒤

6. 6 She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying, and she felt sorry for him. "This is one of the Hebrew babies," she said.

   6 그 궤를 열고 아이를 보니, 보라, 아기가 울므로 그녀가 그를 불쌍히 여겨 이르되, 이것은 히브리 사람들의 아이들 중 하나로다, 하므로

7. 7 Then his sister asked Pharaohs daughter, "Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?"

   7 그때에 그의 누이가 파라오의 딸에게 이르되, 내가 가서 히브리 여인들 중에서 유모를 당신에게 불러와 그녀가 당신을 위해 그 아이에게 젖을 주게 하리이까? 하매

8. 8 "Yes, go," she answered. And the girl went and got the babys mother.

   8 파라오의 딸이 그녀에게 이르되, 가라, 하므로 그 소녀가 가서 그 아이의 어머니를 불러오니

9. 9 Pharaohs daughter said to her, "Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you." So the woman took the baby and nursed him.

   9 파라오의 딸이 그녀에게 이르되, 이 아이를 데려다가 나를 위해 젖을 먹이라. 내가 네 삯을 주리라, 하매 그 여인이 그 아이를 데려다가 젖을 먹이니라.

10. 10 When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaohs daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, "I drew him out of the water."

    10 그 아이가 자라매 그 여인이 그를 파라오의 딸에게 데려가니 그가 그녀의 아들이 되니라. 그녀가 그의 이름을 모세라 하고 이르되, 내가 그를 물속에서 건져 내었기 때문이라, 하였더라.

11. 11 One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people.

    11 ¶ 그 당시에 모세가 장성한 뒤 자기 형제들에게 나가 그들의 무거운 짐을 보다가 어떤 이집트 사람이 어떤 히브리 사람 곧 자기 형제들 중 하나를 치는 것을 보았으므로

12. 12 Glancing this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

    12 그가 이쪽저쪽을 살펴보다가 아무도 없음을 보고는 그 이집트 사람을 죽인 뒤 그를 모래 속에 감추었더라.

13. 13 The next day he went out and saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong, "Why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?"

    13 둘째 날 그가 나갔는데, 보라, 히브리 사람들 중에서 두 사람이 서로 싸우므로 그가 잘못을 행한 자에게 이르되, 네가 어찌하여 네 동료를 치느냐? 하매

14. 14 The man said, "Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?" Then Moses was afraid and thought, "What I did must have become known."

    14 그가 이르되, 누가 너를 통치자와 재판관으로 세워 우리를 다스리게 하였느냐? 네가 이집트 사람을 죽인 것같이 나를 죽이려 하느냐? 하니 모세가 두려워하며 이르되, 분명히 이 일이 탄로 났도다, 하니라.

15. 15 When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by a well.

    15 한편 파라오가 이 일을 듣고 모세를 죽이려고 찾았으나 모세는 파라오의 얼굴을 피해 도망하여 미디안 땅에 거하였으며 하루는 우물 옆에 앉았더라.

16. 16 Now a priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came to draw water and fill the troughs to water their fathers flock.

    16 당시 미디안 제사장에게 일곱 딸이 있었는데 그들이 와서 물을 긷고 구유에 채워 자기들 아버지의 양 떼에게 먹이려 할 때에

17. 17 Some shepherds came along and drove them away, but Moses got up and came to their rescue and watered their flock.

    17 목자들이 와서 그들을 쫓아냈으나 모세가 일어나서 그들을 도와 그들의 양 떼에게 물을 먹이니라.

18. 18 When the girls returned to Reuel their father, he asked them, "Why have you returned so early today?"

    18 그들이 자기들의 아버지 르우엘에게 갔을 때에 그가 이르되, 어떻게 너희가 오늘은 이같이 빨리 왔느냐? 하니

19. 19 They answered, "An Egyptian rescued us from the shepherds. He even drew water for us and watered the flock."

    19 그들이 이르되, 어떤 이집트 사람이 우리를 목자들의 손에서 구출하고 또한 우리를 위해 물을 충분히 길어 양 떼에게 먹였나이다, 하매

20. 20 "And where is he?" he asked his daughters. "Why did you leave him? Invite him to have something to eat."

    20 르우엘이 자기 딸들에게 이르되, 그가 어디 있느냐? 너희가 어찌하여 그 사람을 내버려두고 왔느냐? 그를 불러 그가 빵을 먹게 하라, 하였더라.

21. 21 Moses agreed to stay with the man, who gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage.

    21 모세가 그 사람과 함께 거하는 것을 흡족히 여기므로 그가 자기 딸 십보라를 모세에게 주었더니

22. 22 Zipporah gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom, saying, "I have become an alien in a foreign land."

    22 그녀가 모세에게 아들을 낳으매 모세가 이르기를, 내가 낯선 땅에서 나그네가 되었도다, 하였으므로 그의 이름을 게르솜이라 하였더라.

23. 23 During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God.

    23 ¶ 시간이 흐른 뒤에 그 이집트 왕은 죽었고 이스라엘 자손은 속박으로 인해 탄식하며 부르짖으니 속박으로 인한 그들의 부르짖음이 하나님께 올라오니라.

24. 24 God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob.

    24 하나님께서 그들이 신음하는 것을 들으시고 하나님께서 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱과 맺은 자신의 언약을 기억하사

25. 25 So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.

    25 하나님께서 이스라엘 자손을 바라보시고 하나님께서 그들에게 관심을 기울이시니라.
