출애굽기 21장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 "These are the laws you are to set before them:

   1 이제 네가 그들 앞에 세울 판단의 규범들은 이러하니라.

2. 2 "If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything.

   2 네가 히브리 사람 종을 사면 그는 여섯 해 동안 섬길 것이요, 일곱째 해에는 아무것도 내지 않고 나가서 자유롭게 될 것이며

3. 3 If he comes alone, he is to go free alone; but if he has a wife when he comes, she is to go with him.

   3 만일 그가 혼자 들어왔으면 혼자 나갈 것이요, 장가들었으면 그의 아내도 그와 함께 나갈 것이니라.

4. 4 If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the woman and her children shall belong to her master, and only the man shall go free.

   4 만일 그의 주인이 그에게 아내를 주어 그녀가 그에게 아들들이나 딸들을 낳았으면 그 아내와 그녀의 자식들은 그녀의 주인 것이 될 것이요, 그는 혼자 나갈 것이나

5. 5 "But if the servant declares, I love my master and my wife and children and do not want to go free,

   5 종이 분명히 말하기를, 내가 내 주인과 내 아내와 내 자식들을 사랑하므로 나가서 자유롭게 되지 아니하겠노라, 하면

6. 6 then his master must take him before the judges. He shall take him to the door or the doorpost and pierce his ear with an awl. Then he will be his servant for life.

   6 그의 주인이 그를 재판관들에게 데려갈 것이요, 또 그를 문이나 문기둥으로 데려가서 그의 주인이 송곳으로 그의 귀를 뚫을지니 그러면 그가 영원토록 그 주인을 섬기리라.

7. 7 "If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as menservants do.

   7 ¶ 사람이 자기 딸을 여종으로 팔면 그녀는 남종들같이 나가지 못할지니라.

8. 8 If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself, he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, because he has broken faith with her.

   8 만일 그녀가 자기와 정혼한 자기 주인을 기쁘게 하지 못하면 그가 그녀를 속량하게 할 것이나 그가 그녀를 속였으므로 그녀를 낯선 민족에게 팔 권리가 그에게 없느니라.

9. 9 If he selects her for his son, he must grant her the rights of a daughter.

   9 만일 그가 그녀를 자기 아들과 정혼시켰으면 딸들의 관례대로 그녀를 대우할 것이요,

10. 10 If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights.

    10 만일 그가 다른 아내를 취해도 그녀의 음식과 의복과 결혼의 의무는 줄이지 못할 것이며

11. 11 If he does not provide her with these three things, she is to go free, without any payment of money.

    11 그가 그녀에게 이 세 가지를 행하지 아니하면 그녀가 돈을 내지 않고 나가서 자유롭게 될 것이니라.

12. 12 "Anyone who strikes a man and kills him shall surely be put to death.

    12 ¶ 사람을 쳐서 죽게 한 자는 반드시 죽일지니라.

13. 13 However, if he does not do it intentionally, but God lets it happen, he is to flee to a place I will designate.

    13 만일 사람이 숨어서 기다리다가 죽인 것이 아니라 하나님이 그를 그 사람의 손에 넘겨준 것이라면 내가 네게 한 곳을 정하여 주리니 그는 거기로 도망할 것이니라.

14. 14 But if a man schemes and kills another man deliberately, take him away from my altar and put him to death.

    14 그러나 사람이 고의로 자기 이웃에게 와서 교활하게 그를 죽이면 너는 그를 내 제단에서라도 끌어내어 죽일지니라.

15. 15 "Anyone who attacks his father or his mother must be put to death.

    15 ¶ 자기 아버지나 어머니를 치는 자는 반드시 죽일지니라.

16. 16 "Anyone who kidnaps another and either sells him or still has him when he is caught must be put to death.

    16 ¶ 사람을 훔친 자가 그 사람을 팔든지 혹은 그 사람이 그의 손안에서 발견되든지 너는 반드시 그를 죽일지니라.

17. 17 "Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.

    17 ¶ 자기 아버지나 어머니를 저주하는 자는 반드시 죽일지니라.

18. 18 "If men quarrel and one hits the other with a stone or with his fist and he does not die but is confined to bed,

    18 ¶ 사람들이 함께 싸우다가 한 사람이 돌이나 주먹으로 다른 사람을 쳤으나 그가 죽지 않고 자기 침상을 지키다가

19. 19 the one who struck the blow will not be held responsible if the other gets up and walks around outside with his staff; however, he must pay the injured man for the loss of his time and see that he is completely healed.

    19 다시 일어나 지팡이를 짚고 밖에서 걸어 다니면 그를 친 자가 형벌은 면하되 다만 그의 시간의 손실을 배상하고 그가 완전히 낫게 할지니라.

20. 20 "If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished,

    20 ¶ 사람이 자기 남종이나 여종을 막대기로 쳐서 자기 손 밑에서 죽게 하면 반드시 형벌을 받아야 하지만

21. 21 but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.

    21 그럼에도 불구하고 그가 하루나 이틀을 살아 있으면 형벌을 면하리니 이는 그 종이 그의 돈이기 때문이니라.

22. 22 "If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the womans husband demands and the court allows.

    22 ¶ 사람들이 싸우다가 아이 밴 여인을 다치게 하여 그녀의 열매가 그녀에게서 나왔으나 어떤 피해도 뒤따르지 아니하면 그는 그 여인의 남편이 그에게 요구하는 대로 반드시 형벌을 받을 것이며 재판관들이 결정하는 대로 지불할지니라.

23. 23 But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life,

    23 그러나 어떤 피해가 뒤따르면 너는 생명은 생명으로,

24. 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

    24 눈은 눈으로, 이는 이로, 손은 손으로, 발은 발로,

25. 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.

    25 화상은 화상으로, 상처는 상처로, 매는 매로 갚을지니라.

26. 26 "If a man hits a manservant or maidservant in the eye and destroys it, he must let the servant go free to compensate for the eye.

    26 ¶ 사람이 자기 남종의 눈이나 여종의 눈을 쳐서 그것을 멀게 하거든 그의 눈으로 인해 그를 놓아주어 자유롭게 할 것이며

27. 27 And if he knocks out the tooth of a manservant or maidservant, he must let the servant go free to compensate for the tooth.

    27 사람이 자기 남종의 이나 여종의 이를 치면 그의 이로 인해 그를 놓아주어 자유롭게 할지니라.

28. 28 "If a bull gores a man or a woman to death, the bull must be stoned to death, and its meat must not be eaten. But the owner of the bull will not be held responsible.

    28 ¶ 소가 남자나 여자를 받아서 그들이 죽으면 그 소는 반드시 돌로 쳐서 죽일 것이요, 그것의 고기는 먹지 말 것이며 그 소의 주인은 형벌을 면하리라.

29. 29 If, however, the bull has had the habit of goring and the owner has been warned but has not kept it penned up and it kills a man or woman, the bull must be stoned and the owner also must be put to death.

    29 그러나 그 소가 전에도 뿔로 받는 버릇이 있었고 그 사실이 그것의 주인에게 입증되었음에도 그가 그 소를 가두지 아니하여 그것이 남자나 여자를 죽이면 그 소는 돌로 쳐서 죽이고 그것의 주인도 죽일지니라.

30. 30 However, if payment is demanded of him, he may redeem his life by paying whatever is demanded.

    30 만일 그에게 일정액의 돈이 부과되면 그는 자기에게 부과된 것이 무엇이든지 다 자기 생명의 대속물로 주어야 할지니라.

31. 31 This law also applies if the bull gores a son or daughter.

    31 그것이 아들을 받았든지 딸을 받았든지 이 판단의 규범에 따라 그 일을 그에게 행할 것이며

32. 32 If the bull gores a male or female slave, the owner must pay thirty shekels of silver to the master of the slave, and the bull must be stoned.

    32 만일 그 소가 남종이나 여종을 받으면 그가 은 삼십 세겔을 그들의 주인에게 줄 것이요, 그 소는 돌로 쳐서 죽일지니라.

33. 33 "If a man uncovers a pit or digs one and fails to cover it and an ox or a donkey falls into it,

    33 ¶ 사람이 구덩이를 열어 두거나 구덩이를 파고 덮지 아니하여 소나 나귀가 그 안에 빠지면

34. 34 the owner of the pit must pay for the loss; he must pay its owner, and the dead animal will be his.

    34 그 구덩이 주인이 배상하여 그것들의 주인에게 돈을 줄 것이요, 죽은 짐승은 그의 것이 될지니라.

35. 35 "If a mans bull injures the bull of another and it dies, they are to sell the live one and divide both the money and the dead animal equally.

    35 ¶ 어떤 사람의 소가 다른 사람의 소를 다치게 하여 죽게 하면 그들이 살아 있는 소를 팔아 그것의 돈을 나누고 죽은 소도 나눌 것이나

36. 36 However, if it was known that the bull had the habit of goring, yet the owner did not keep it penned up, the owner must pay, animal for animal, and the dead animal will be his.

    36 그 소가 전에도 받는 버릇이 있는 줄을 알고도 그것의 주인이 그것을 가두지 아니하였으면 그는 반드시 소로 소를 갚을 것이요, 죽은 것은 그의 소유가 될지니라.
