출애굽기 22장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 "If a man steals an ox or a sheep and slaughters it or sells it, he must pay back five head of cattle for the ox and four sheep for the sheep.

   1 사람이 소나 양을 도둑질하여 죽이거나 팔면 그는 소 한 마리에 소 다섯 마리로 갚고 양 한 마리에 양 네 마리로 갚을지니라.

2. 2 "If a thief is caught breaking in and is struck so that he dies, the defender is not guilty of bloodshed;

   2 ¶ 도둑이 침입하다가 발견되어 매를 맞고 죽으면 그를 위해 피를 흘릴 필요가 없으나

3. 3 but if it happens after sunrise, he is guilty of bloodshed. "A thief must certainly make restitution, but if he has nothing, he must be sold to pay for his theft.

   3 그 도둑 위에 해가 돋았으면 그를 위해 피를 흘려야 하리라. 그는 전액 배상하되 가진 것이 없으면 자기 몸을 팔아 자기가 도둑질한 것을 배상할 것이니라.

4. 4 "If the stolen animal is found alive in his possession--whether ox or donkey or sheep--he must pay back double.

   4 그 도둑질한 것이 산 채로 그의 손안에서 분명히 발견되면 그것이 소든지 나귀든지 양이든지 그는 두 배로 갚을지니라.

5. 5 "If a man grazes his livestock in a field or vineyard and lets them stray and they graze in another mans field, he must make restitution from the best of his own field or vineyard.

   5 ¶ 사람이 밭이나 포도원에서 먹이기 위해 자기 짐승을 들여놓고 다른 사람의 밭에서 먹이면 그는 자기 밭의 가장 좋은 것과 자기 포도원의 가장 좋은 것으로 배상할지니라.

6. 6 "If a fire breaks out and spreads into thornbushes so that it burns shocks of grain or standing grain or the whole field, the one who started the fire must make restitution.

   6 ¶ 불이 나서 가시나무에 옮겨 붙어 곡식 낟가리나 베지 않은 곡식이나 밭을 태우면 불을 놓은 자가 반드시 배상할지니라.

7. 7 "If a man gives his neighbor silver or goods for safekeeping and they are stolen from the neighbors house, the thief, if he is caught, must pay back double.

   7 ¶ 사람이 돈이나 물건을 자기 이웃에게 넘겨주어 지키게 하였다가 그 사람의 집에서 그것을 도둑맞았는데 그 도둑이 발견되면 그는 두 배를 지불할 것이요,

8. 8 But if the thief is not found, the owner of the house must appear before the judges to determine whether he has laid his hands on the other mans property.

   8 도둑이 발견되지 아니하면 집주인이 재판관들에게 불려 가서 자기 이웃의 물건에 손을 댔는지 조사를 받을 것이니라.

9. 9 In all cases of illegal possession of an ox, a donkey, a sheep, a garment, or any other lost property about which somebody says, This is mine, both parties are to bring their cases before the judges. The one whom the judges declare guilty must pay back double to his neighbor.

   9 온갖 종류의 범법에 관하여는 그것이 소나 나귀나 양이나 의복에 관한 것이든지 혹은 다른 이가 자기 것이라고 주장하는 잃어버린 어떤 물건에 관한 것이든지 양쪽이 재판관들 앞에서 사유를 댈 것이요, 재판관들이 유죄 판결을 내리는 자가 자기 이웃에게 두 배를 지불할지니라.

10. 10 "If a man gives a donkey, an ox, a sheep or any other animal to his neighbor for safekeeping and it dies or is injured or is taken away while no one is looking,

    10 사람이 나귀나 소나 양이나 혹은 어떤 짐승을 자기 이웃에게 넘겨주어 지키게 하였다가 그것이 죽거나 상하거나 끌려갔는데 아무도 그것을 보지 아니하였으면

11. 11 the issue between them will be settled by the taking of an oath before the LORD that the neighbor did not lay hands on the other persons property. The owner is to accept this, and no restitution is required.

    11 물건을 맡은 자가 자기 이웃의 물건에 손을 대지 아니하였다는 것에 대하여 그들 둘 사이에 주의 맹세가 있을 것이요, 그것의 주인은 그 맹세를 받아들일지니 그 사람은 그것을 배상하지 아니할 것이니라.

12. 12 But if the animal was stolen from the neighbor, he must make restitution to the owner.

    12 만일 그가 그것을 도둑맞았으면 그것의 주인에게 배상할 것이며

13. 13 If it was torn to pieces by a wild animal, he shall bring in the remains as evidence and he will not be required to pay for the torn animal.

    13 만일 그것이 갈기갈기 찢겼으면 그는 그것을 증거로 가져갈 것이요, 그 찢긴 것을 배상하지 아니할 것이니라.

14. 14 "If a man borrows an animal from his neighbor and it is injured or dies while the owner is not present, he must make restitution.

    14 ¶ 사람이 자기 이웃에게 무엇을 빌렸는데 그것의 주인이 그것과 함께 있지 아니할 때에 그것이 상하거나 죽으면 그가 반드시 배상할 것이나

15. 15 But if the owner is with the animal, the borrower will not have to pay. If the animal was hired, the money paid for the hire covers the loss.

    15 그것의 주인이 그것과 함께 있었으면 그가 배상하지 아니할 것이며 만일 그것이 세를 주고 빌린 것이면 그것은 세를 받기 위해 왔느니라.

16. 16 "If a man seduces a virgin who is not pledged to be married and sleeps with her, he must pay the bride-price, and she shall be his wife.

    16 ¶ 사람이 정혼하지 아니한 처녀를 꾀어 그녀와 함께 누우면 반드시 지참금을 주고 그녀를 자기 아내로 삼을 것이요,

17. 17 If her father absolutely refuses to give her to him, he must still pay the bride-price for virgins.

    17 만일 그녀의 아버지가 그녀를 그에게 주기를 완강히 거부하면 그는 처녀들의 지참금에 따라 돈을 지불할지니라.

18. 18 "Do not allow a sorceress to live.

    18 ¶ 너는 마녀를 살려 두지 말지니라.

19. 19 "Anyone who has sexual relations with an animal must be put to death.

    19 ¶ 누구든지 짐승과 함께 눕는 자는 반드시 죽일지니라.

20. 20 "Whoever sacrifices to any god other than the LORD must be destroyed.

    20 ¶ 오직 주 외에 다른 어떤 신에게 희생물을 드리는 자는 진멸할지니라.

21. 21 "Do not mistreat an alien or oppress him, for you were aliens in Egypt.

    21 ¶ 너는 나그네를 괴롭게 하거나 압제하지 말라. 너희는 이집트 땅에서 나그네였느니라.

22. 22 "Do not take advantage of a widow or an orphan.

    22 ¶ 너희는 과부나 아버지 없는 아이를 괴롭히지 말지니라.

23. 23 If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry.

    23 네가 만일 어떤 식으로든 그들을 괴롭혀서 그들이 어떻게든 내게 부르짖으면 내가 반드시 그들의 부르짖음을 들을 것이요,

24. 24 My anger will be aroused, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives will become widows and your children fatherless.

    24 내 진노가 맹렬하게 되어 내가 칼로 너희를 죽이리니 너희 아내들은 과부가 되고 너희 자식들은 아버지 없는 자가 되리라.

25. 25 "If you lend money to one of my people among you who is needy, do not be like a moneylender; charge him no interest.

    25 ¶ 네가 만일 네 곁에 있는 가난한 내 백성 중 누구에게 돈을 빌려주거든 그에게 이자 받는 자같이 굴지 말고 그에게 이자를 부과하지도 말지니라.

26. 26 If you take your neighbors cloak as a pledge, return it to him by sunset,

    26 네가 어떻게든 네 이웃의 옷을 담보로 잡으면 해가 질 때까지 그에게 그것을 넘겨줄지니라.

27. 27 because his cloak is the only covering he has for his body. What else will he sleep in? When he cries out to me, I will hear, for I am compassionate.

    27 그에게는 그것이 유일하게 덮는 것이요, 그의 살을 덮는 의복이니 그가 무엇을 입고 자겠느냐? 그가 내게 부르짖으면 내가 들으리니 나는 은혜를 베푸는 자니라.

28. 28 "Do not blaspheme God or curse the ruler of your people.

    28 ¶ 너는 신들을 욕하지 말며 네 백성의 치리자를 저주하지 말지니라.

29. 29 "Do not hold back offerings from your granaries or your vats."You must give me the firstborn of your sons.

    29 ¶ 너는 네 익은 열매와 네 즙의 처음 것 드리기를 더디 하지 말고 네 아들들 중의 맏아들을 내게 줄지니라.

30. 30 Do the same with your cattle and your sheep. Let them stay with their mothers for seven days, but give them to me on the eighth day.

    30 네 소와 양도 그와 같이 하되 이레 동안 그것을 그것의 어미와 함께 있게 하고 여덟째 날에 그것을 내게 줄지니라.

31. 31 "You are to be my holy people. So do not eat the meat of an animal torn by wild beasts; throw it to the dogs.

    31 ¶ 너희는 내게 거룩한 사람들이 될지니 너희는 들에서 짐승에게 찢긴 것의 고기를 먹지 말고 개들에게 그것을 던질지니라.
