KJV : And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever. KJV : But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him [to be] captain over his people, NIV : But now your kingdom will not endure; the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people, because you have not kept the LORDS command."

NIV : Samuel said to him, "The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors--to one better than you. KJV : And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed [but] thousands: and [what] can he have more but the kingdom?
KJV : And afterward when David heard [it], he said, I and my kingdom [are] guiltless before the LORD for ever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner: NIV : Later, when David heard about this, he said, "I and my kingdom are forever innocent before the LORD concerning the blood of Abner son of Ner.
KJV : And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake. NIV : And David knew that the LORD had established him as king over Israel and had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.
KJV : And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
KJV : And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever. NIV : Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever." KJV : And the king said, And where [is] thy master's son? NIV : The king then asked, "Where is your masters grandson?" Ziba said to him, "He is staying in Jerusalem, because he thinks, Today the house of Israel will give me back my grandfathers kingdom."
KJV : The LORD hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and the LORD hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son: and, behold, thou [art taken] in thy mischief, because thou [art] a bloody man. KJV : And also Solomon sitteth on the throne of the kingdom.
KJV : Then sat Solomon upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly. NIV : So Solomon sat on the throne of his father David, and his rule was firmly established.
KJV : And he said, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and [that] all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign: howbeit the kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother's: for it was his from the LORD. NIV : "As you know," he said, "the kingdom was mine. All Israel looked to me as their king. But things changed, and the kingdom has gone to my brother; for it has come to him from the LORD.
NIV : King Solomon answered his mother, "Why do you request Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? KJV : So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; which went out, and fell upon him, that he died. And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon. NIV : Then the king gave the order to Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and he went out and struck Shimei down and killed him. The kingdom was now firmly established in Solomons hands.
KJV : And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life. NIV : And Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. These countries brought tribute and were Solomons subjects all his life.
KJV : Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel. NIV : I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father when I said, You shall never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.
KJV : And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom. NIV : Twelve lions stood on the six steps, one at either end of each step. Nothing like it had ever been made for any other kingdom.
KJV : Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant. NIV : So the LORD said to Solomon, "Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates. KJV : Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; [but] will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen. NIV : Yet I will not tear the whole kingdom from him, but will give him one tribe for the sake of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen."
